  1. 4.5 Wentworth Falls Lookout (1.186 reviews)
    - Outstanding access to Blue Mountains National Park
Spent 2-3 hours Lookouts • Waterfalls
    Wentworth Falls Lookout image
National Parks has nearly completed a much needed upgrade of the over cliff walk from the car park to the Conservation Hut. Their track work is outstanding but it will still require good mobility to follow the full over cliff walk. This walk provides a great opportunity to experience the Blue Mountains National Park and it’s glorious views whilst not being to hard to access. You must wear comfortable walking shoes that may get muddy and take a weatherproof jacket. It’s not a long walk but still could be a challenge for some. There are a number of access and exit points if it’s becoming too difficult. The short track back to your start if you do the loop may reward you with a Lyrebird sighting! Always read and follow the National Parks safety advice that is signposted clearly at the entry points. See more..
  2. 4.5 Dangar Falls (319 reviews)
    - Fab falls
    Waterfalls
    Dangar Falls image
The falls are well worth a visit, and are just a couple of kms out of Dorrigo. (The access road from town was having some major work done when we visited but don't be put off by this.) Excellent views of the falls to be had. Firstly, an overview from the carpark, then a short walk of about 10 minutes down through the forest to beside the pool at the base of the falls. The track is good with boardwalks and railings and non-slip surfaces. Still, don't rush down as it is a pretty damp environment and the potential for slips and stumbles is still there. We were there in August - certainly would not recommend taking a dip at this time of year. The water was icy cold! See more..
  3. 4.5 Minyon Falls (212 reviews)
    - Adventure!
    Waterfalls
    Minyon Falls image
Drive there is windy and due to recent rain, water over the road at points. We were able to cross in 2-door no issues. The hike down to the base of the falls takes about an hour, it is a 70m descent but it's an easy walk. You have to climb up and over some big boulders as you get closer to the waterfall. Again, due to the recent rain in the area the falls, were full and overflowing heavily. Stunning! I would highly recommend visiting after a day or two after heavy rainfall. See more..

    - Falls with rain

    Ellenborough Falls image
It was a good time to visit. The country was lush and gree and plenty of water was thundering down the falls. The drive up was great, especially in a 4WD not normal cars can get through. Clean toilets at site. See more..
  5. 4.0 Katoomba Falls (163 reviews)
    - Beautiful waterfall high up in the Blue Mountains
    Spent < 1 hour Waterfalls
    Katoomba Falls image
On my short visit to Scenic World I rode their Skyway cable car. Suspended from ca. 270 m above the valley floor you get some fantastic views down to the Katoomba Falls. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to complement my birds eye view of this waterfall by walking down to it but, nevertheless I'm pleased that I had the chance to marvel at just additional feature of this local landscape. 6. 4.5 Somersby Falls Picnic Grounds (159 reviews)
    - Gorgeous

    Somersby Falls Picnic Grounds image
The falls are gorgeous and great for exploring the creek bed. Lovely forest around and the dappled sunlight allows anyone to explore without too many worries about sunburn etc. The place was pretty clean and allows views from three different platforms which means people of varying physical capabilities can enjoy the place. See more..
  7. 4.5 Minnamurra Falls (152 reviews)
    - Amazing Lyrebirds
    Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Waterfalls
    Minnamurra Falls image
Even though the Falls walk is closed owing to the need for repairs, the Rainforest Walk is still worth doing. We were lucky enough to see four lyrebirds, with one of them running through its repertoire of mimicked sounds. One of them, was the sound a phone camera makes as you take a photo! If you are a National Park Member, don't be fooled into thinking the charge in the carpark is for parking. Its a day entry charge which you have already paid in being a member. See more..
  8. 4.5 Wollomombi Falls (147 reviews)
    - WOW
    Waterfalls
    Wollomombi Falls image
An easy drive off Waterfall way on this sealed road all the way to Wollomombi Falls. BBQ area, amenities and parking before a variety of walking trails. The Main Falls Lookout is easy stroll to a cantilever platform, that produced an Oh Wow moment. The gorge below is stunning, and early morning, the sun was beaming through the waterfall providing a special sight. Check out Edgars Lookout while you’re here, and wander further along to Checks Viewpoint with little extra effort See more..
  9. 4.0 Killen Falls (130 reviews)
    - Lovely waterfall
    Spent 2-3 hours Waterfalls
    Killen Falls image
The walk down to the viewing platform is nice and easy although not suitable for wheeled mobility units due to the uneven path. The falls themselves are nice and worth the walk to the platform, especially if you are lucky enough to be there after local rains as we were. You can also go to the base of the falls via a track that is not well maintained and after rain is somewhat hazardous. The trek to the base is along the creek bed with no defined path that is just rocks. It is worth it for the view as the water going over the falls is a nice view. See more..
  10. 4.5 Apsley Falls (127 reviews)
    - Stunning after recent rains
    Waterfalls
    Apsley Falls image
We visited today after heavy rains in this area. Easy walking around the gorge to view the falls, even with a wheelchair. Camp ground too, although we were just day visitors. Clean toilets (not pit toilets)! No fees to drive in and do the walks. We thought the falls and gorge were magnificent. See more..
  11. 4.5 Ebor Falls (123 reviews)
    - Amazingly beautiful
    Waterfalls
    Ebor Falls image
Tumbling over several drops, these falls are like a wedding cake with many layers. The two largest ones are connected by rapids in the stream. This beautiful spectacle of nature is worth a visit. While the viewing platforms that were damaged by fire are yet to be restored, the picnic areas are near the falls. Only a short drive from the main road. See more..
  12. 4.5 Dangar Falls (97 reviews)
    - Worth a Visit
    Waterfalls
    Dangar Falls image
We dropped in to take a look at Dangar Falls as it had been raining and we thought the falls would’ve flowing well. We were not disappointed the falls were fabulous. The new lookout platform is great and gives you an awesome view of the drop. The park is good with amenities, a kids playground and there is a walk that takes you down to the water so you can have a swim. Worth keeping in mind if you want to camp or caravan that the adjoining property offers powered camping sites. See more..
  13. 4.5 Carrington Falls (82 reviews)
    - Fabulous Falls
    Waterfalls
    Carrington Falls image
Carrington Falls were stunning. An easy walk from the car park there are a few different viewing platforms to take in the massive drop. The view down the gorge below is also brilliant. Just be careful in the car park as the parking spots are very tight and with a few 4x4s there was very little space. There are picnic tables at the falls. We also drive into the camping area to have a look at the Blue Pool. It would be a great swimming hole in summer. See more..
  14. 4.5 Mumbulla Falls (76 reviews)
    - Beautiful and interesting
    Waterfalls
    Mumbulla Falls image
A beautiful chain of pools high on Mumbulla Mountain, used since forever by the local Yuin people for initiation of boys to men. Please don't swim in the rock pools here - these are sacred to Yuin people, and they explicitly ask visitors not to swim. It is really sad to see that people are teaching their children to disregard and disrespect the wishes and culture of the traditional owners and stewards of this place. There's plenty of other places to swim around the South Coast. There is a good bbq area too, decent toilets etc. The road is really not that bad! Did it in a hire car with no problems at all. 15. 4.5 Belmore Falls (75 reviews)
    - Awesome Falls
    Spent 1-2 hours Waterfalls
    Belmore Falls image
We were visiting the area and went to visit the Belmore Falls. The parking area was full but we did get a park a little way down the one way road. There are a couple of lookouts over the falls which show them in all their splendor. While we were there we watched a large group of young people down at the top of the second drop. They had obviously scrambled down some "secret track". What they were doing was very dangerous. One small slip and they could have been gone over the falls. See more..
  16. 4.5 Fairy Bower Falls (66 reviews)
    - Scenic nature hike
    Waterfalls
    Fairy Bower Falls image
Situated in the Morton National Park in Bundanoon so there is an entrance fee to pay at the start of the park. We were a large varied group with different athletic skills. The hike is definitely medium and quite steep in some areas so grab a large stick to help you. It had been raining so some of the track was quite muddy and slippery so wear sensible shoes but also meant the waterfall was running and looked beautiful. If you do have limited time there is another impressive waterfall in the park - the Erith Coalmine and Falls which I would choose over Fairy Bower. See more..
  17. 4.5 Boonoo Boonoo Falls (65 reviews)
    - Wonderful Rugged Gorge
    Waterfalls
    Boonoo Boonoo Falls image
We had been walking up in Bald Rock National Park and decided to dropped into Boonoo Boonoo NP on our way back to Tenterfield. It is an easy 14km 2x2 wheel drive over dirt road to the end. Along the way you pass a turn off to a picnic area and a little further there is the camping ground. Unfortunately the area had been badly affected in the bush fires and was only just getting some new foliage. There is a covered picnic area and drop toilet at the end. We walked down the short track to the lookout overlooking the spectacular falls. There had been a bit of recent rain so the falls were running a bit. The view over the gorge is stunning and well worth seeing. On the way to the lookout there is a track to the left which takes you a short distance down to a spectacular water hole in the river. Access to the water is easy. There is also a river walk which runs between the camp ground and the lookout. See more..
  18. 4.5 Adelong Falls (55 reviews)
    - Must see if in this area.
    Waterfalls
    Adelong Falls image
This is a hidden gem for the Adelong area. Easy variety of walks with lots of places to rest mid-walk. Lots of work has been done by local volunteer groups to make this as safe as possible to walk down the paths and steps. The ruins are so interesting. The photos and information boards add additional interest and explain the history. The viewing platform is a wonderful addition. There are also picnic tables - a great place to take a snack or a coffee. An extra bonus for us was to visit after lots of rain. This meant the river was high and looked amazing. If you are in this area, make sure you add this to your "must do" list. See more..

  20. 4.5 Dangars Falls (43 reviews)
    - Definately visit after rain
Spent More than 3 hours Waterfalls
    Dangars Falls image
If you don't mind several kilometers of dirt road, the falls are definately worth a visit. There is ample parking and several excellent viewing spots within a very easy paved walkway. Lavatories and picnic facilities are available. The falls are a single, near verticle, drop. Looked sepctacular during our visit, following some good railfalls. See more..

    Washpool National Park image
You need to book through internet (covid rules) but easy, and means you don't drive for hours and find the campsite full. Road in OK for smaller vans, mainly tenting and small motorhomes. No showers, compost toilet, fireplaces, and a camp kitchen with gas BBQ. The walks are a real pleasure through the rainforest. See more..

  23. 4.5 Not Tia Falls (residentials) (26 reviews)
    - Tia Falls. Totally Terrific.
    Waterfalls
    Not Tia Falls (residentials) image
Just 10 minutes off the highway, Tia Falls are spectacular. The 5-10 minute mostly level walk from the carpark takes you to a wonderful viewing platform where you can see the entire multi-tier waterfall. We definitely recommend walking the 150 metres beyond the viewing platform to look out and down upon the gorge. Back at the carpark are excellent free BBQ’s, picnic tables and a clean public toilet. Totally worth the visit. See more..
  24. 4.5 Ellenborough Falls (23 reviews)

    Waterfalls
    Ellenborough Falls image
These waterfalls are a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Equally as lovely is the scenic drive to get there, perhaps even better than the falls for me!! We drove a little car up without incident. The roads are in fine condition after the rains. See more..
  25. 4.0 Tooloom Falls (22 reviews)
    - Peace & Quiet - Back to nature
    Waterfalls
    Tooloom Falls image
We have just returned from a lovely Long weekend camping at Tooloom Falls....What I can say is the weather was fantastic, the water was beautiful, we had a camp fire each night, and spent time with friends relaxing by the bucket load. We bought our own fire wood, Ensuite (Pit toilet was available/but heaps of people there so I used my own...) and Hot water system for showers. It was easy to get to and FireFlys flew past each night - absolutely magical. We will be back next year for more of the same - FREE Bush Camping !!!! See more..

  27. 4.5 Nethercote Falls (18 reviews)
    - Epic Waterfall, Easy Access for Van
    Waterfalls
    Nethercote Falls image
Epic waterfall, unlike any we had seen. The entry track was very manageable for our little van. From the car park you take the path down to the right, past the Nethercote Falls Flora Reserve sign. When we visited, the steep road was under construction, however we had no issues ducking through and making it across the river bed where the track begins again. There are some really fun jumping spots and the water was refreshing. We would definitely recommend to anyone up for a little walk to enjoy this awesome secluded spot. See more..
  28. 5.0 Waterfall Walk (8 reviews)
    - Wonderful waterfall - crystal clear cool water
    Waterfalls
    Waterfall Walk image
Willi Willi National Park is accessible by car from Wauchope west of Port Macquarie. The roads through the state forest and the National Park are mainly dirt and gravel but were well graded when we drove through. Park at the Wilson River Picnic Area and follow the marked trail for 1500 metres to the waterfall. It's a relatively easy trail which is mainly level but watch out for the tree roots. It is a beautiful area and the water is crystal clear. You can take a dip in the river or the pool at the bottom of the falls but the water was quite cold when we were there in April. The ferns, strangler figs and moss are plentiful. There are picnic facilities and pit toilets back at the car park. It's easy to spend half a day driving there and back and including time for the walk. See more..

    - Right Beside the Road
    Waterfalls
    Newell Falls image
We were in Dorrigo and decided to go down after all the rain and see how the falls were flowing. It is amazing how they flow down the mountain and disappear under the road and then tumble into the valley far below. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stop as there was heaps of work being carried out on the road from previous rain damage. Still great to see the falls up close. See more..

Whilst camping at Kylies beach I decided to go for a drive and find this hidden gem. It’s about 45minuted from camp grounds and well worth the drive. Waterfalls
    Undercliffe Falls image
We first looked at the upper part of the falls which have some lovely cascades. We then made our way to the bottom. Getting to the bottom is challenging but very rewarding. Tracks are easy to find. Be aware, while we were there our group of 6 all got between 1 and 5 leaches, and one person also got a tick. It had been raining. There is a toilet in Liston which is clean if you need it before or after Undercliffe Falls. Enjoy. See more..

    - A beautiful little hidden swimming hole
    Waterfalls
    Scouts Falls image
This place in the Sherwood Nature Reserve is not easy to find as its not sign-posted. From Glenreagh its an easy 10 minute drive. Park your car near the bridge that spans Middle Creek, then follow Middle Creek upstream for about 10 minutes & you will eventually come to this place. The day we visited we found the short hike's path slippery, uneven & rocky but if you take your time you'll be rewarded (especially if its a hot day). See more..
