4.0Shawnee Mountain Ski Area(347 reviews) - Lacking advanced terrain, best ski school around. Monday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Ski & Snowboard Areas
This place is absolutely incredible. We are Camelback season pass holders but are deeply concerned about the direction of their ski school. I have an Indy Pass so I decided I had nothing to lose and check out Shawnees ski school. For the same price as 1.5 hours at Camelback you get 3 hours at Shawnee and the level of teaching is far higher. This ski area is clearly dedicated to growing the sport of skiing and the local community. The terrain is generally very mild so it’s fantastic for getting your whole family into the sport.See more..

Heard about this zip-lining course that was up in the mountains and decides we need to try it. It was a great way to spend a few hours! 3.5AvalancheXpress(78 reviews) - Night Tubing Ski & Snowboard Areas
We went on a cold Friday night. Arrived a little after 8:30pm and stayed till closing. Kids had a good time. There were a couple of things that could be improved. The hot chocolate in the concession trailer was just luke warm. One of the workers abandoned her post at the top of the lift. This caused the lift to go into emergency shut down. My husband said the other workers said she left with her boyfriend who was also employed there. No big deal, but they did stop operating the lift. The resort should get a few propane heaters. The little camp fires do nothing in providing heat in extreme cold. Other than that. Kids had a good time. We ended up staying till closing. See more..

It's a beautiful place with good slopes and cozy lodge. This has more the local and calming vibes as compared to the other ski resorts. Their lodge is sitting on top of the mountain that gives a very good view of the slopes. We travel more than 3 hours just to come here, that's how much we like this resort. See more..
4.5Laurel Mountain Ski Resort(8 reviews) - Mount Laurel Ski Spent More than 3 hours Ski & Snowboard Areas
Loved the idea of coming to a smaller ski area. We were not disappointed. Unfortunately the weather had been too warm for a lot of snow, so only a couple of runs were open. This was perfect for our family to get used to skiing/snowboarding again after a number of years. Derek in the Wildcat lounge was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The food was great, much better than we expected from a ski area. Taylor was the chef at the Wildcat and his food was fantastic. He was also very accommodating. I also saw the ski patrol members helping new beginner skiers get down the slopes. We are looking forward to coming back for another day of skiing, and this will now become our new place to come back to.See more..
