4.5Coca-Cola Park(644 reviews) - One bad apple … Sports Complexes
Through the years, we’ve attended many an Iron pigs game and love this venue. So, it’s Wednesday and the Bryce Harper hype Is on, so we decided to attend a game. And enjoy the weather and sports in the city. All is well, it’s a beautiful 86 degree, blue sky sunshine day. There is an outdoor table set up next to the sports shop entrance and I purchased a hat, LISA processed my card and I ask for a receipt. She looks at me quizzically and frowns and looks disturbed, not happy that I need a receipt. Yes, LISA, and she turns the iPad around and says “ here, you do it!” Customer service antics not accepted. Do better, LISA, or sign up to clean bathrooms! (One star deduction for her attitude!)See more..

Galactic Ice is a place I highly recommend ice skating at if you are in the Altoona area, it is opened year round and it is reasonable. They have a schedual of times when they have open skate to the public, but still that shouldn't put a stop to going there. It is awesome and the people there are very nice. One day Steamer (Curve Mascot) came by to ice skate and he is a very good skater.See more..
5.0Rec Hall(9 reviews) - Enough Banners to "Choke a Horse" Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM Sports Complexes
This is a "field house" that dates from 1929. However, over the years, a number of renovations have occurred. It is the "home" of the volleyball, wrestling, and gymnastics teams. It is an excellent facility that seats 6,000+. We were recently there for the first round of the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament. I was very impressed with the facility!See more..

What a neat stadium! Parking was $5 which is cashless (as all things at the stadium are). Gates opened an hour before the game and I walked around taking in the scenery - it is built into the side of a hill/mountain. The view is pretty spectacular, and there are no bad views in the park. They have all the foods you would imagine.See more..

We had a great visit here. The lifeguards were so kind and helpful. I heard them speak to some younger kids who were there for a day camp that was ending. They called the kids by name and told them to have a great school year. I was stung by a bee, and they suggested I get a “sting stick” from first aid. She was so kind to me and checked for a stinger. They were very helpful to me. The concession stand is a bit overpriced, but they have a pretty good selection, and the workers here were kind, too. Overall, we really enjoy this pool, but our visit this year was especially good. See more..

Shanberger's was a go to place back in my high school days as soon as I got a driver's license. It's great to see the place is still there and well maintained, surrounded by beautiful farm land. 1.0Young Peoples Community Center(1 review) - Pavillion party pooped by pooper Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes You read correctly! The YPCC is responsible for these pavilions st the borough pool. We paid to reserve one nearly 2 months in advance. When the day came of course we contended with a few showers...not a problem and no one controls the weather...THE TOILET BACKING UP WAS NOT PART OF THE DEAL! the assured us bathroom use when I reserved and they did have it open. But within about 20 minutes of the start the toilet backed up! I called them to tell them and the lady who answered asked what exactly I wanted her to do about it. So frustrated I had to take time away from the party said being a plunger or send someone it's your job to do something since i rented it. We ended the call and a short time later a guy called me asking about my complaint and he said there wasn't much he could do from florida... FLORIDA! He asked how much longer we intended to be there (at this point it was maybe 3 or 4) we scheduled the party til 6 but you rent it for the day and can have it til midnight so how long I was staying shouldn't have mattered much. I had people leaving to go pee somewhere else and 2 guys peed in bottles in their trucks! Yuck! After several calls back and forth and my frustration growing I said I shouldn't have to deal with this during this party and as we were packing up to leave someone finally showed up and yelled out their window at us that they had opened the other bathroom! Ridiculous! We wont spend our hard earned money to have people deal with a sewage back up at a child's birthday party and be treated like crap when we just want something done about it. I should have sat there for the rented time just to prove a point. I spent tons of time on the phone dealing with an issue that while I understand may occur should have been fixed without a second thought. 4 hours with a toilet mess was absurd.See more..
5.0In the Net(1 review) - Amazing Facility Sports Complexes Recently we attended an indoor round robin softball tournament at this facility. Much to my surprise, two (2) games were played simultaneously, with room between the two fields. The organization of the event was flawless and the staff was readily available. The facility was clean and well lit. The restrooms were clean and maintained throughout the entire event (even with the large number of athletes present) Kudos to the owners and staff for this amazing facility.See more..
