4.5Linesville Spillway(168 reviews) - Nostalgic Fun Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Bodies of Water • Points of Interest & Landmarks
We’ve been visiting here since the early 80’s. The concession stand has bread you can purchase for $1.00 a loaf, along with regular food and souvenirs. There were a lot of geese close to the railways taking the bread. The spillway had tons of fish. Regardless of your age, it’s entertaining to watch the carp fight for the bread.See more..

4.5Hibernia County Park(40 reviews) - Walk in the Woods Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water • Parks • Hiking Trails
Hibernia Woods Trail runs along the Brandywine. Every so often a rider on a mount will pass by going in the opposite direction and exchange greetings, a tip of the hat or raising of hand. Much in the manner such greetings have been exchanged as travelers have passed during the trail's existence.See more..
Two weekends ago I had the privledge of shooting a wedding at Sweet Arrow Lake in Pine Grove, PA. It is literally one of the most beautiful areas with the Fall foilage and scenery. There is an outdoor chapel area, sitting benches, trails with great views and a suspended bridge. The clubhouse offers great ambiance and has a little bit of a rustic feel. If you are looking for an outdoor site to get hitched and you are in this area, you are just in luck.See more..
4.0Blue Marsh Lake(34 reviews) - Chillaxing Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Blue Marsh gets a bad rap. It is a beautiful lake filled with many types of fish including large mouth and small mouth bass. If you are a bird watcher, or just like wild life in general, this is the perfect setting for that. I can’t talk on the cleanliness of the bathrooms or beach, but if you like boating, fishing and relaxing then this is the place for you.See more..
5.0Peters Lake Park(27 reviews) - Small Park but lake for dog to take a dip Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Parks • Hiking Trails
We were looking for a place nearby our hotel to take our golden retriever for a quick swim and this place came up when I googled pet friendly beaches. It's a nice, but small park with a lake so clearly you need to get there early on the weekends if you want a spot near the shore. We finally found a spot for him to take a dip but it was less than ideal since it was at the end of a wooded path and the bank of the lake wasn't easy to get in and out of not to mention all of the downed trees in the water but it got the job done. Lots of fishing and boating going on here and seems to be a great local park. As we were walking around the lake I noticed that there was a bird feeder hanging in a tree and underneath there were several chipmunks which absolutely made my evening, it's the little things that make me happy.See more..
4.5Lloyd Park(26 reviews) - A heaven for dogs Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Parks
Great place for dogs. Our husky loves to be there even when he is tired. This place is way bigger than my back yard and so much fun for pets. Our Zoro greats every dog that gets in and runs to all corners. I guess he thinks that after Siberia this is the best place.See more..
4.5Lake Wilhelm(22 reviews) - A COVID Goat Island experience Bodies of Water
As a part of our COVID-forced STAYCATION we took a road trip to Goat Island and a look at the American Falls. It's always thrilling to be so close to the Falls, and this trip was no exception. The COVID reduced the number of tourists on the Island and made it easier for photo opportunities and walking around the area. I did NOT like the $10 parking fee, but it is what it is.See more..

4.5Kettle Creek State Park(19 reviews) - Very nice and quiet Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water • Mountains • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Forests • Dams
Stayed here on a solo trip. A site on the creek in the lower campground. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful are only a start to describe this place. Sites are good space wise. 30amp electric available at most sites. Bathhouse was kept clean. Only issue is the shower water is on a 7 second timer when you press the button. If they could bump that up to 20 seconds would be great. For mid July the temperatures were mid to upper 80’s. Very few bugs on this trip. Just the chirping of birds all day. I’ll definitely be coming back here in the future. See more..

5.0Leaser Lake Park(12 reviews) - Great day on the water with nature. Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
My son Grayden and I love this lake. We are abid kayak fisherman. the launch is great for my old knees. After sitting for hours on the water it's a welcome friend for standing up. We were there today for 6 hours. We were fishing by the island and we were blessed to have 3 deer come out and walk the waters edge. They just went about there day as we watched and continued fishing. We caught a combination of fish. Bass Perch and of course sunnies. As we were paddling out 2 men in a boat had hooked something big. As we watched him fight a great fight he lost after a huge Muskie leaped high out of the water. With his head on his hands I wished him luck on the next oneSee more..

4.0Peekamoose Blue Hole(5 reviews) - Catskills beauty! Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water
Lucky for us, we went to visit Peekamoose Blue Hole on a cloudy weekday. Apparently, they've really cracked down and it now requires a day pass permit to visit on the weekends and holidays. Park Rangers are checking ID and day permits. It's beautiful, clear, freezing cold water, swimming hole. I didn't see any garbage and no one was playing loud music. I wasn't brave enough to jump in, but everyone who did had the same reaction. They couldn't get out fast enough. Water was insanely COLD. Warning, parking can be a bit of a nightmare. If you don't find a spot in the one lot, you'll get a ticket. Happy I went during the week. Hopefully these permits will ensure safe public access to the Blue Hole area while also protecting the creek and the wild forest that surrounds it.See more..

5.0Penns Creek(4 reviews) - Driving Along Winding, Scenic Penn's Creek Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
We spent much of the Christmas holiday visiting family around Selinsgrove and Kratzerville. I enjoyed driving the winding roads such as Market St. and PA 204 which give great views of the creek. At the time of our visit the water was high with the creek near the top of it's banks. It is a nice scenic drive through the local area and a nice respite from the more agressive US 11/15. See more..

5.0Old Logger's Trail(1 review) - Great views... Bodies of Water • Biking Trails • Hiking Trails Was here on a Saturday. There is a parking lot across the street from the trailhead. It was over 5 miles total. Muddy in portions & dry in others. We did have to traverse some water along the way. Once we got to the loop we took the left side which is a long gradual hike uphill then a steep decline on the way down. There are beautiful views of Raystown lake, a bubbling creek, ravine views & some pines. There are blue trail markings along the way & only saw 2 other hiking groups along the way. See more..
