My first experience at this lake. The people at the marina were very pleasant and informative about the lake and the pontoon boat. The boat was exceptionally clean. My only criticism is the flat gasoline charge. I have rented pontoon boats at various lakes in other states and only paid for gas used. I paid the mandatory flat rate of $75 for gas basis a full day rental. I estimate this was at a minimum $50 more then actually consumed (boat fuel was 3/4 full and returned with a little more then a 1/2 tank. See more..

Have lived in Phoenixville 16 years and this was the first time we did this fun activity. We went on July 4th weekend so it was busy. All of the water crafts were rented, so we had to come back later in the day, but they were nice enough to reserve 2 kayaks for us (me and my husband and a 9 and 11 year old). We did the full loop of the canal and river as recommended. Overall, was a very enjoyable experience. The toughest part of the journey was carrying the double kayaks out of the canal, across the gravel parking lot and into the river. Once we went down the river, had to do the same to get the kayaks back in the canal. My husband and I are in great shape and this proved to be very challenging. Would be great if they offered some assistance. But other than that, the trip on the canal and river was a great way to spend a great summer day! See more..

We did the "Route 2" 8+ mile Kayak trip from Watsonville back to Bic's. Had checked with a couple of other places that were water level challenged this time of year and they only had shorter trips available. Since Bic's is on the Susquehanna river no worries about water level. Good for first timers as there isn't much challenge to the river so it was a pretty leisurely ride down the river. We took the narrow lane every chance we could as otherwise the river is pretty straight and monotonous. Took 4 hrs but that included a 45 min stop and we took our time. If you are looking for a challenging trip on the water this isn't it. That was the only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars. The staff at Bic's was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The told us the local place to eat afterwards which was a great recommendation. See more..
