We found the hard packed gravel trail to be well maintained and easily navigated with hybrid bicycles and an e-bike. The trial was not crowded; we rarely saw other bikers during our mid-week trip during the pandemic. The trail winds along Pine Creek and through many small villages, some of which have excellent lunch and/or ice cream options. The views are wonderful. Pandemic note: Most establishments followed precautions for COVID-19 despite the low to negligible rate in this area. Beware of a particular Inn and restaurant in Jersey Shore that followed none of the required or recommended precautions. See more..

This is without a doubt one of the best parks I've been to. This park is large so allow pleanty of time. There is a small lake with ducks and geese and a waterfall Much of the walking trail is small open fields with deep woods in the background. In some places the woods are close to the trail. The cabin belonging to Mr. Trexlar still exists6 This is a great way to see the forest without entering the woods. See more..

I live adjacent to the Trail and it offers a well-maintained place to walk, run, and bike. The trail's expansion is ongoing. The immediate circuit near me is 7 miles, which is more than enough for my needs, though I see many people drive to this location (Parking available) to use this trail. There are areas where flowers have been planted. There are benches scattered along the trail for a respite. And there's opportunity to view wildlife as they scamper about enjoying their day as well. Did the Old Loggers Trail as a hike which was a hilly 5 mile loop. Was muddy in portions with ravine views, a creek & views of Raystown Lake . There are mountain biking trails at the same trailhead but the hiking trail is located across the street from the trailhead. Was not busy on a Saturday morning. The Raystown visitor center was just a few minutes down the street but was closed. See more..

It’s 3.2 miles round trip from the Moul Field start. The reward is a view of the mountains at the end. We had a hard time finding the beginning of the trail since TA only says Moul Avenue - which is too broad. It starts between the condos/townhouses and the treeline by Moul Field. See more..

While visiting family, I decided to check out the trail. I parked at the park in Trafford, and I walked to Export and back. It I had more time, I would have checked out the eastern leg of the trail. Next time, I will bring a bike and explore them both. It will be nice when the two legs are connected! See more..

Armstrong Trail - Phillipston Parking image
...some aggressive bugs at a few spots, I had an awesome hike on this well maintained trail enjoying stunning views of the Allegheny River along with a little exercise. I really wasn't planning on hiking what I did when I started out. I actually wanted to just check-out the Coaling Tower. Google Maps with its sometimes imprecise driving directions took me to the opposite bank of the river from where the tower sits. It must of expected me to hire a canoe or something like that to get to the other side. It didn't take me that long to find my way to this trailhead just outside of East Brady. They got another trailhead in that town as well. There's some residences: both trailers and a few homes at this one with a separate area near the train turntable to park at. Actually, I parked by some of the residences and one old guy came zooming out on his golf cart to "greet" me. After genuflecting and asking for his consent to park, he was friendly and waved me onward. Set off on the trail towards Redbank Creek which I guess is about 2 1/2 miles. There and back and then a little more is what I did. Like I said, it's a well maintained trail and has a few railway related information panels dotting it. Best thing about it, I saw only three cyclists the whole time I was out here. Love vacant trails. See more..

  23. 4.0 New Milford River Trail (1 review)
    - A lovely walk in the woods along the river
    Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails
We discovered this river walk and did it in early November. While most of the leaves were gone what was there was still amazing. It is an easy walk and with the river on one side and a park on the other very quiet and relaxing. We did a there and back in about an hour and a half, but didn't go to the end. There is some free parking in front and on the other side of the old RR bridge. Dagwoods restaurant/bar is there and a great place for meal or a drink There are some places to grill and picnic, a bench or two in the woods. You can get right down to the water of the Housatonic river to fish or get wet in summer. I think fishing needs a permit but I saw some folk fly fishing in the river another day. It is just a lovely spot. See more..

    - Great views...
Bodies of Water • Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
Was here on a Saturday. There is a parking lot across the street from the trailhead. It was over 5 miles total. Muddy in portions & dry in others. We did have to traverse some water along the way. Once we got to the loop we took the left side which is a long gradual hike uphill then a steep decline on the way down. There are beautiful views of Raystown lake, a bubbling creek, ravine views & some pines. There are blue trail markings along the way & only saw 2 other hiking groups along the way. See more..

I dont know why this is number 5 of 5 things to do. This is literally one of the best things in this town. It has always been well maintained, has multiple access points here in town, and is suitable for multiple skill levels. Most of what we experienced was a gentle grade. You will see and come across wild life. We have young children and they absolutely enjoyed. See more..
  26. 4.0 Montour Trail - Moon Trailhead (1 review)
    - Nice Walk

Montour Trail - Moon Trailhead image
I hiked on this trail last week from two different entry points. The one in Moon Township, where I live by the way, is the Montour Trail's starting/ending point. Looks like they're going to extend the trail to the Ohio river and for the most part it's done, so I went that way first. There was some pretty awesome graffiti style lettering on some walls along that way. Headed back the other direction, and it's pretty much a straight shot kind of trail, well maintained and level. You're definitely walking on a trail that parallels different busy roads, so you're not our there in the solitude of some wooded area. You can see a lot of the major department stores and shops from the Robinson area on the tops of some hills along the way. It wasn't busy the days I was out, so I didn't worry too much about passing anybody and breathing in their poisons. I do wear a mask most of time I hike though. The more I wear a mask the more I want to wear a mask. If I would have known how much I like them, I would have started wearing them way before the pandemic. It also keeps my nose warm in the cold weather. See more..
  27. 4.0 Buffalo Rail Trail (1 review)
    - Beautiful country trail for biking, but it's not paved
Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails
    Buffalo Rail Trail image
The Buffalo Rail trail is a rail trail (e.g., bike bath) of just over nine miles between Lewisburg and Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. We had read about it before coming to Lewisburg and made the town a prime destination on route between Columbus and Boston. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous – vast, open farmland, a large portion belonging to the Amish community, and just long enough to generate a good sweat to warrant refreshments on either end. The trail was pretty well traveled, mostly by Amish cyclists, which gave the ride a somewhat unusual feel. If not for the crushed gravel terrain, this would have been one of my favorite bike paths. Instead, we had to deal with the noise, slightly greater effort, and a sizable amount of grime and dust soiling our ebikes requiring cleaning after our trip. This was a very picturesque journey which Cherry Wonderdog recommends wholeheartedly. You might choose any day but Monday and Tuesday if you feel like stopping off at one of the breweries along the way. They were closed when we went. See more..
