A neat place to spend an evening under the stars during their public observing sessions which are held during spring, summer, and fall. See more..
  2. 4.0 Mather Planetarium (1 review)
    - Great Activity for Scouting Troops in the Area
Tuesday: Spent < 1 hour Science Museums • Observatories & Planetariums
You have to purchase tickets in advance (they go on sale about 2 weeks prior to the show) and are about $6 per person online and your name is added to a list for that show (no printed tickets). If you have a child 5 or under who can sit on your lap they are free. The planetarium is small, but keep in mind that it is run by the school. They have shows only during the semester on Fridays with the doors opening at 6:30 and the show starts at 7. No food in the theater. The first half of the show is the current night sky and the second half is a pre-recorded movie which rotates from week to week. The session we attended was about astronauts, prepping for launch and all the dangers they face once they are in orbit. Great for something different to do especially if you/your kids like space and star watching! See more..
