  1. 4.5 Indian Echo Caverns (905 reviews)
    - Beautiful Caves!
Tuesday: Caverns & Caves • Geologic Formations
    Indian Echo Caverns image
Natural Splendor along the Swatara.Like many caverns in the Mid-Atlantic states, Indian Echo Caverns is a limestone cave. Cut through Beekmantown limestone, which is over 440 million years old, they were formed through the erosive properties of water. As time progressed, geological forces led to an "uplift" of the surrounding limestone, eventually allowing more and more water to flow through the formation. As the water flowed over the limestone, it began to create small crevices, these small crevices led to larger ones, and eventually, over a series of millions of years, it created the caverns as they are today. The temperature inside the caverns is 52 degrees year around. - Arrive early to enjoy the beauty

    Seven Tubs Recreation Area image
Arrive early to avoid people swimming in the creek. It is definitely a local water spot! Couldn’t believe all the trash left behind by people in the parking lot!! It was the same along the creek but not as bad the further you went along the trail. Less people too! We walked all along the creek on & off the yellow trail. It was beautiful until you hit where some massive storm came through, or at least that’s what we think. They really didn’t clean up the trees all on the creek but cleared a new path that connected you back to the original trail. Trail is very rocky in spots & a lot of above ground roots!! Watch where you step. See more..

  7. 4.5 Boulder Field (137 reviews)
    - Fun to experience
    Geologic Formations
    Boulder Field image
Kids had a lot of fun building rock sculptures, exploring and climbing over the boulders. Need to wear good rubber shoes or sneakers - not Crocs. There is a lone, small tree in the middle that was fun for pictures. There is no shade even under the small tree there. Driving to the parking lot had signage but you need to pay attention because we missed a crucial sign. It is not long to walk from the parking lot - it is right there. Plan to go to Hawks Falls across the way. See more..

    Geologic Formations
    Wyalusing Rocks image
My mother was from Wyalusing, and I spent many happy summer days there during my youth. Going to the Rocks, also known as Indian Prayer Rocks, was a treat I still enjoy. It is one of the best view of the Susquehanna and one of the top vistas in Pennsylvania. During my recent visit, a Bald Eagle circled below the cliffs. Beautiful! While there were no eagles around during my youth, they returned in the nineteen nineties. If you are lucky you may catch a sighting of this majestic bird. See more..
  12. 4.5 Scripture Rocks Heritage Park (14 reviews)
    - A Truly Unique Experience
Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Hiking Trails • Geologic Formations
    Scripture Rocks Heritage Park image
An amazing natural and man-made wonder! There is literally nothing like this anywhere else! This beautiful park was created to showcase the rocks carved with scripture, but the natural environment is just as breathtaking, if not more so! Be prepared for a decent walk from the parking lot before getting to the actual scripture rocks, and even more walking if you want to visit the entire park, because it's bigger than you might think. Some of the inclines are steep, so it might not be for those with unsure footing. Highly recommended. See more..
