4.5Kentuck Knob(661 reviews) - Frank Lloyd Wright's Finest Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
In no way does Kentuck Knob come in as a lesser experience than nearby Fallingwater. The latter is a tour de force and absolutely worth visiting, but Kentuck feels more accessible as a smaller house and one you could imagine living in. The setting is a different kind of awe inspiring as the approach is though woods and the immediate setting intimate until you walk out to the "Knob" with its expansive view of the laurel Highlands. The house is a true gem, enhanced by the quality of the original design and construction along with the personal effects of the present owner Lord Peter Palumbo. It feels very special to be invited into a private residence by the excellent tour guides. Our visit was capped off by meeting Lord Palumbo in the gift shop where we had a pleasant conversation.See more..
4.0Market Square(582 reviews) - Nice place to shop, eat, relax. Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 12:00 AM Points of Interest & Landmarks
There is a nice mix of restaurants and shops in this area. We arrived mid-afternoon, grabbed a coffee at Starbucks and sat in the shade of a big tree at a little table and chairs set up and enjoyed watching the people. It was relaxing after walking all morning. We watched a family play a game of cornhole that was set up in the square.See more..

4.0Port Erie Bicentennial Tower(234 reviews) - Great views of the city and waterfront Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Observation Decks & Towers
Visited the last Friday of August when the tall ships were in the harbor. It cost $6 to take the elevator up, but I was able to take in the scenery as long as I wished. The views of the city and waterfront were stunning and very photogenic. There were signs at the top describing some of the nearby history of the waterfront area, etc. Bring your camera and binoculars if you have them. With taking photos and admiring the views, I was there about 45 minutes including a few minutes at the gift shop at the bottom.See more..
4.5Evergreen Cemetery(232 reviews) - You absolutely cannot visit Gettysburg without visiting Evergreen Points of Interest & Landmarks • Cemeteries
We could write for an hour or more about what we have seen and learned from walks through Evergreen. Aside from President Lincoln’s Gettysburg address he delivered there in November after the battle, there are many, many wonderful folks and stories buried on these grounds. Plan an hour or so to walk this hallowed ground and see if you can identify where President Lincoln immortalized this location.See more..
4.5Lincoln Statue at Wills House(210 reviews) - Nice surprise to come across this statue Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Missions • Monuments & Statues
We had parked our car in a garage, and were making our way to the Blue & Gray Bar & Grill, when we were pleasantly surprised by this statue. We had not sought it out, but now, we would. There is such a connection of President Lincoln to Gettysburg, that one never questions, “What is this doing here?” This sculpture, titled “Return Visit”, is the most true to life statue of Abraham Lincoln ever created. There are a few parking spots right in front, and, while we were there, saw travelers scoot in, get out of the car, take a photo, and run back and drive off. It, definitely, is a statue that is worth seeing.See more..
4.5The Eternal Light Peace Memorial(177 reviews) - Great Monument Tuesday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
I live in the Gettysburg area and really enjoy The Eternal Light Peace Memorial off of Mummasburg Road. We used to go there in the evening when I was growing up and was a favorite stopping place. It was commemorated in 1938 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as part of the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. The flame is always on, although there was a period of time when it was not.See more..
4.5Linesville Spillway(168 reviews) - Nostalgic Fun Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Bodies of Water • Points of Interest & Landmarks
We’ve been visiting here since the early 80’s. The concession stand has bread you can purchase for $1.00 a loaf, along with regular food and souvenirs. There were a lot of geese close to the railways taking the bread. The spillway had tons of fish. Regardless of your age, it’s entertaining to watch the carp fight for the bread.See more..
We came here to find a geocache. The Coffee Pot was listed on Roadside Attractions, so we figured it would be a good photo op. The fair was in full swing when we arrived, so we came back the following morning when there was no activity. Great stop!See more..
5.0Virginia Memorial(155 reviews) - Standing Tall On the Field Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
Confederate Avenue on which this monument stands is quieter than Hancock Avenue (the Union side) and by my accounts gives you more room to breath and truly ponder what both sides were facing right before Pickett's charge. The cannons, the fences, the hills and the open fields all lend perspective to the event. Then there is the Virginal Memorial topped by Robert E. Lee. Standing strong, gazing across the field, this is an amazing memorial to Virginia, its army, and its military leader.See more..
Bedford County is blessed with 14 covered bridges. Built approximately 100 years ago by craftsmen who worked almost entirely by hand, these structures withstand the rain, snow and hard use of the traveling public. The county's bridges range in length from the 136 foot Herline Bridge near Manns Choice, PA to the 56 foot Palo Alto bridge south of Hyndman. Twelve spans are Burr-truss bridges, named after their designer, Theodore Burr. These bridges are held in place by a set of trusses that interact with the arch that spans the length of the bridges, creating added strength. A lot of people ask, "Why did they cover the bridges?". One answer is that wooden bridges with exposed superstructures can rot ... covering and roofing them protects them from the weather so they'll last longer.See more..
5.0Flight 93 Memorial Chapel(143 reviews) - Flight 93 Chapel is worth the time to visit. Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
The Flight 93 Memorial Chapel and outdoor garden is a beautiful place to stop after visiting the national park. It is worth the drive from Route 30. The focus on the flight crew and the artifacts from the flight are impressive. A volunteer, Connie, was amazing. She took time to explain the chapel and it’s collection of memorabilia from Flight 93. I recommend to anyone visiting the Flight 93 National Park to stop at the chapel after.See more..
4.0Bowman’s Hill Tower(137 reviews) - Eh - it was ok Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts
If you're in the area, you probably should visit just to see it, but it's not really worth the money. The person working there seemed incredibly bored and offered no information. The stairs are narrow and steep so beware if that may be a problem for you. The view was nice, but I think they could do a better job with educational information (and enthusiasm).See more..
4.5Phil's Burrow(126 reviews) - Nice option to see Punx Phil Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
This is likely a hit or miss attraction because you’re expecting to see a ground hog that may or may not be cooperative for viewing and will most likely be sleeping. We had reasonable expectations, and sure enough one of the two was sleeping in a corner, though we believe it was Punx Phil that happened to be eating. We viewed from inside the library and outside, though the library was a far better view. We took a walk through town and when we came back both were sleeping. This was definitely off the beaten path, a little over an hour from Pittsburgh, but it’s a slice of Americana that I’m happy we experienced (even during the summer!).See more..

4.0Gravity Hill(62 reviews) - Really neat to do Points of Interest & Landmarks
Worth the trip! Lack of cell service, but had it just two miles down the road from here. Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Not really marked well. (Best part- it's near Ridgetop Orchards where we were able to pick cherries on the same adventure. ) My husband isn't usually a person that gets "excited", but this pleased him enough that he took a video of us doing it. Park on the road. Put the car in neutral. And coast backwards. Pretty neat!!!!! How does it work?!?!!? Who knows! You need to experience this for yourself and then take a guess. :)See more..
3.5Over Look Tower(62 reviews) - Beautiful views of the fall foliage! Points of Interest & Landmarks • Observation Decks & Towers
Beautiful views of the fall foliage! I was a bit hesitant to enter when I saw the credit card machine and revolving steel gate. $5 per person seems a little pricey for a few minutes of viewing, but with the fall color I am so glad I climbed the tower. As others have said it does not provide views of the canyon. But the fall color views were beautiful. See more..

5.0Saint Vincent College(51 reviews) - Impressive and beautiful campus Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Universities & Schools
Beautiful church and campus. Evidently an important addition to the area. We were able to park on campus, visit the church and Mr. Rogers exhibit. The visitor check in person was very friendly and accommodating. Glad we could see the steeples from our hotel and decided to check it out. There were locals parking who were jogging on the property. We probably spent an hour just viewing but could have spent more time, depending on activity.See more..
4.5Fort Roberdeau(49 reviews) - Historic Fort Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
We had a great time walking the grounds and learning about why the fort was there in the first place. Very interesting to learn about how it was a big part in mining lead during the war. Our guide was very informative as he took time to explain the short video we watched when we got there. The fort is also pet friendlySee more..
I wish I lived close-by. I'd take the dog out here for a walk every morning just to see this impressive lighthouse. This was my final stop on a quick visit to Erie. It was evening and nobody was around so I spent a quiet moment admiring this beautiful structure which seemed like a work of art in a diffused twilight right before sunset. It never ceases to amaze me how the symmetry of a lighthouse can blend and improve the natural optic of any area. Near working class homes and a playground for everyday children, it stands like a guard taking care and watching over everyone sort of like a grandparent for the community.See more..
5.0Tunkhannock Bridge(38 reviews) - Absolutely stunning, and even better than in photos. Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges
The Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct is an absolute wonder. It's surreal. If you love railroading, and/or architecture, you really should see it. And if you take Route 11 South from the NY border, you will also get to see the Martin's Creek Viaduct (its "Little Brother") on the way down. Both are stunning. My husband and I also did a side trip to see the Starrucca Viaduct, also a real marvel. Worth the trip - ALL of them.See more..

4.0Mount Washington Tavern(34 reviews) - National Road history at Ft. Necessity - great historical context Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks
This site abuts the Ft Necessity National Battlefield and is a great stop on your visit. Has about 6-8 rooms that you can view - the Dining Room, the bar room, parlor and upstairs some bedrooms. The Tavern was a stop on the National Road and it was a nice look at a typical roadside tavern. I see several mentioning that it was closed due to COVID, but we visited in July 2021 and it was not closed at that time. Only a certain number could be in the tavern at a time, but we didn't see a time when people had to wait outside, etc. Masks were required indoors, as they are required this year in all National Park buildings.See more..

Take a walk around the Memorial stopping at each of the nine 18ft granite columns where you will learn about American Wars and Conflicts from the War of 1812 to the Wars of the Middle East. Read quotes from Presidents and Generals and see through the eyes of the veterans as you read their words during times of war. Feel the never ending gratitude as you read the names of fallen soldiers Wounded Warriors, POWs and heroes of the armed forces etched in granite. Walk amongst the pavers honoring local love ones and supporting our troops with personalized messages. A fountain, located in the center, is a gathering place for reflection and it's constant flow reminds us of the memory of our Veterans which will be kept alive forever at this Memorial. Open 7 days a week, the Memorial Association is proud to honor our men and women in uniform with the Memorial dedicated to preserving the legacy of all Veterans and active members of the American Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and National Guard during any period from all over the nation.See more..
5.0Murals of Maxo Vanka(30 reviews) - Simply Magnificent Tuesday: Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Mysterious Sites • Religious Sites • History Museums

4.0Vraj(29 reviews) - Vraj, PA - USA Great Shreenathji Temple in USA Points of Interest & Landmarks
Must visit for all Vaishnav’s if you have little time in USA to spare. It’s great to see how in middle of no where such nice temple with decent accommodation and with free prasad facility in the afternoon and evening has been managed by volunteers. Would like to add that Haveli Sangeet or Kirtan was one of the best I have heard live from the resident kirtanya’s. Like all places there are area of improvement but with more support from Main mandir in Nathdwara who is managing the temple things can be improved further. Again would like to appreciate the work done by management and dedicated Volunteers who manages temple.See more..

4.5Mercer County Courthouse(26 reviews) - One of, if not THE best Points of Interest & Landmarks
I have not visited every courthouse in Pennsylvania, but of the many that I have seen, the Mercer County Courthouse stands out. The corner stone was laid in 1909 and was the third Mercer County Courthouse to stand on this site. The architecture is exquisite, and the interior color scheme and artwork are breathtaking. If you are ever in Mercer, PA, definitely visit the courthouse. Even if you stand in the rotunda and just look up into the dome, you will be amazed. A defining landmark in historic Mercer, for well over a centurySee more..

4.5Main Street Commons(20 reviews) - Love the Atmosphere Here Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Scenic Walking Areas
We have come to the little town of Bethlehem a few times, and have walked up and down Main Street several times. We have loved it every time. It is an awesome area to stroll, browse, and window-shop, while taking in all the sights and the sounds of the fabulous architecture, the ancient Bookstore, the plethora of wonderful Restaurants, and the iconic Bethlehem Hotel up front and center dominating the landscape. The Visitor Center near the Hotel is a “Must Visit”. When we re-visited last week, everything was decked out for Christmas. There was even the clop of the horse hoofs and the rumbling of the Carriage Rides passing by us. The whole atmosphere takes one back to the Victorian Era. So glad that they have managed to maintain that vibe and ambiance.See more..
