Took our atvs here and I LOVE this place! So many trails, not too many rocks, and a great variety of trails. Want to get away from the wife all day? This is the place. Trail markings are great. Had no problem finding our way back wherever we were. Will definitely be going back in the spring! See more..

If you enjoy driving/riding in a golf cart, but don’t find yourself particularly enamoured with golf, there’s a fun solution waiting for you in Mercer, PA.. I’m referring to Hell’s Hollow Adventure Trail where, after paying $30 (CASH ONLY!) you’ll be handed keys to a two-seat golf cart and a map that, to be honest, is neither helpful nor necessary (though there are some interesting facts noted on the flip side). From there, it’s simply a matter of following the yellow arrows on the way out, and red arrows to return. Along the way, you’ll wend through a lot of woods, a few meadows... oh... and hills... lots of hills, some of them quite steep. But don’t worry, these aren’t your regular golf carts. Whatever these little beasts have hidden (beneath the seats?) it enables them to make quick work of hills, exposed roots, deep puddles, slippery paths... you name it! You’ll have 1.5 hours to traverse the trails, with plenty of time to stop and enjoy the remains of an old iron ore furnace and other structures from the past, or simply take pictures, stroll a bit, or just sit and take in the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. But for those who like their fun a little less subdued, the cart is where it’s at. And, while this is no high-speed, four-wheelin’ expedition, you’ll likely be grinning and laughing as you bounce along. Honestly, this is far more fun than you might image if you’ve never visited. If you’re in the area, it’s a hidden gem. Don’t miss it! Note: If you’re not interested in getting muddy or going a bit faster than one might normally expect on a golf cart, you’ll easily be able to slow down and “smell the roses” without need for speed or dirt.
