4.5Old Sled Works(54 reviews) - a brits version of the appalachian trail Tuesday: Antique Shops
After doing a review of the fab Doyles hotel, this great spot is the next place to visit in Duncannon. I was doing the mad thing, thru-hiking the AT, having trecked over 800 miles when I dropped down to sample the old America. The place is amazing, a real timewarp of a place. The 1950`s diner will never be forgotten by this world master traveller. All that chromium steel, the soda fountains, pinball machines, all that was missiing was Fonzzy to stroll right in and give the juck box a good slap. A goldmine of treasures of the best era`s that America gave the world, 30`s to the 50`s. I was late getting back onto the AT due to me playing on those pinball machines for half the afternoon. If I ever return to the States, Duncannon, Doyles hotel and this sled works are going to be seen again. Thanks Duncannon.See more..
We stopped here on Saturday morning before Hershey Park opened because I knew my husband and I would enjoy it. We could have spent hours in here looking at everything, our 2 children on the other hand, we lasted about a hour. It appeared that they aren't used to children being in an antique store, which I could understand, but we got followed around for awhile. It was interesting to see how everything was set up, it appeared to be a consignment sort of antique booth. If you like antiques of all kinds, I do recommend stopping in here, with at least a hour of time.See more..

This place is HUGE!! It took a few hours to browse through all of the different shops. I'm afraid that we may have missed some booths as it is a very jumbled layout (we didn't notice the maps that were available until we were checking out). There is a bit of everything here so you'll have to take time to browse. Only issue was that if you needed something from a locked case, you had to find your way back to the checkout to request someone to come over with a key (remember the booth number that you're shopping in so they can get the correct key).See more..

My husband and I try to have breakfast at the Quadrant as often as possible. I love the bookstore atmosphere and the food is absolutely the best breakfast in town. The portions are large and they always have an interesting mixture of fare available. Every time we go to Quadrant, the staff is courteous and helpful. They are usually very busy and yet they do everything they can to ensure that we are taken care of and that our meal is satisfactory. The coffee choices vary from day-to-day and there are always naturally-flavored waters to enjoy with our meal. The Quadrant is a jewel of a coffee house.See more..

4.0Miller's Crossing Fleatique(21 reviews) - Great antique shop / flea market Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops • Antique Shops
Based on what we saw in the photos that people had posted, we weren't sure that this was going to be a good antique shop / flea market. But we found very little junque. They had a nice variety of quality offerings available throughout the booths. We found reasonable prices throughout. And came away with a couple bags of finds. If you're like us, with a short list of things that we're looking for, and always open to things that we didn't expect to find, you can easily spend a few hours here. Furniture for sale was all in good condition. There were some beautiful Tiffany lamps, serving bowls, and artwork throughout. And a lot of the usual Longaberger, Corelle, and Pyrex type pieces that you might see in a nice shop. This was a fun stop on our trip!See more..

4.5Big Valley Antique Center(8 reviews) - Treasure Hunt Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Antique Shops • Flea & Street Markets • Shopping Malls Attracted by a weekly flea market in the parking lot of Big Valley Antique Center, we caroused and bought a few things at the flea market then spent almost 5 hours going through the antique store, finally reaching the 2nd floor and ran out of time to finish two thirds of the upstairs. My brother in law found a few old farm items and things you wouldn't think of looking at but caught his imagination to convert them into something useful. For us older folk, wandering the aisles of this store was in part a trip down memory lane seeing things I grew up with and used. What impressed me was that there was so much of the old stuff because the things are native to the area. Back home there isn't such an abundance of old stuff available. I guess when we make another vacation trip we will finish looking upstairs and catch the flea market again too.See more..

You have to see this place to believe it. Allegedly an antique store, but we never made it that far. It took 2 hours to walk the entire grounds, which appear to have been a magnificent estate at one time. You will see dozens of the following life-size or over-sized sculptures and statues (in no particular order): dinosaurs, zoo animals, lizards, sea creatures, mythical creatures, naked humans, gods, thrones, benches, urns, pagodas, fountains, koi ponds, etc. And EVERYTHING is for sale.
