4.5Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry(1.679 reviews) - Fast, efficient, and got us there and back. Monday: 7:30 AM - 9:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Ferries
I'd recommend parking in Lot 1 (Mackinaw City) so you avoid the lack of shuttles to get you to other lots upon your return to the city from the island. You might consider going up to St. Ignace to cross as it's closer to the island and may be cheaper (don't quote me on that part). However, we had very little to complain about.See more..

4.5Detroit RiverFront(1.468 reviews) - A Great Way to Experience Detroit! Piers & Boardwalks
After years of hearing how dirty and dangerous Detroit was, I was a little apprehensive about visiting, but knew that I wanted to experience the Motor City. I was completely surprised at how clean and safe the River Walk area and the downtown in general was. Detroit is a great city that is experiencing a renaissance (GM Renaissance Building pun not included) and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The Riverwalk is about 3 miles long and there is a nice, easy access parking lot at the corner of Rivard and Atwater Streets. The views of the Detroit River and Windsor, Canada are incredible. 4.5Ford Rouge Factory Tour(935 reviews) - Had a great time Monday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Walking Tours • Factory Tours
Bear in mind that my Uncle and I love anything with a motor and we're farm people. Having said that, we LOVED the Rouge tour; we spent almost 5hrs there. At the Henry Ford, I had planned for 1.5 days; I ended up booking 2 more nights at the hotel so we could return to the museum for 2 more days and we're already planning when we should go back. Sooo much more to see. Unfortunately I didn't see the schedule change in the village that indicated that everything is closed on Wednesdays in the Fall, so even though we strolled through the Village and read all of the information placards, we didn't get to go inside any of the houses or see craftsman plying their trades. I couldn't recommend the Rouge tour and the Henry Ford museum any more highly.See more..
4.5Front Street(932 reviews) - A great way to spend a leisurely afternoon!! Points of Interest & Landmarks
We thoroughly enjoyed walking about downtown Traverse City on a sunny Saturday afternoon, enjoying the murals and historical architecture, doing some people watching, popping into the small boutiques, grabbing a bite here, a drink there. You can move at your own pace, spend a little or a lot of time and/or money. It's up to you!! And from Front Street, you can walk down to the waterfront parks and sit and enjoy the sunshine and the water, or you can walk to see the beautiful Victorian houses of Sixth Street or the Purple House on State Street, among other historic homes. Note that some establishments still require masks; it wasn't a problem for us.See more..

4.5Ford Field(866 reviews) - FIRST TIME FUN!!!! Arenas & Stadiums
I had never been to an NFL game until my daughter and beau planned this one. What a way to be introduced ....especially in an ENCLOSED stadium!!!! Terrific views from any level and no "nose-bleed" sections. Great to be in a city with rabid fans but I just found the seats a bit small and the beer excessively expensive .....just like all sports stadia (stadiums) which gouge the fans unnecessarily.See more..
4.0Firekeeper's Casino(845 reviews) - love this casino, one of my favorites Casinos
I like the big money give aways, just think that it should be like 5 at 2500 instead of one at 12,500. would make it nicer. Me and my husband go up here at least once a month on average. DO not always win, but the last time I came we did good, but they were having the big cash give away next day so we lost most of our money, didn't win nothing next day. Feel it was a ploy they knew we were out of state figured we were their for the drawing and gave us money to lose baack and to come back and lose with, but it was still fun.See more..
4.0Greektown(815 reviews) - Great Time In The D Neighborhoods

a very popular and impressive beach with a play area, restrooms and food concessions. the swim area is outlined with buoys and manned lifeguards to watch over everyone. there are other areas outside of the swim and beach area, still in the park, along the shoreline including small pockets in the dunes, paved trails leading to a channel for boats and lighthouses one can walk to. there are many tables, benches and bbqs within the park for use. the restrooms are clean and taken care of and there are water fountains with foot showers to clean off the fine grained sand. we were extremely lucky to have a beautiful day and evening for taking photos of the sunset. admission is $12 for an all day pass with plenty of parking for easy access and the ranger mentioned that we could leave and come back later as long as we had our pass, which we did. Lake Michigan never disappoints with its rolling waves and sandy bottom.. definitely will return to this fantastic beach and its amenities.See more..
4.5Munising Falls(768 reviews) - Munising Falls near sunset Waterfalls
On our final day in Munising we stopped at Munising Falls. It was an easy hike to the falls. There are two stairways on either side. The stairway on the right as you approach the falls took you up to a walkway that was next to a rock wall with a small cave. The view from this walkway placed you closer to the falls. The stairway on the left did give you a better view of the bottom of the falls where the water hit a large rock below. The sky was partly cloudy but when the sunset came through the clouds it made the falls look like they were orange. I recommend seeing these falls if you are in Munising or anywhere nearby.See more..

This is one of the best places to see a college football game. The walk to the Stadium is alone almost worth the price of admission. It primarily has bleacher seating, and the food and beverage options are pretty limited. But it gets loud and the atmosphere can be absolutely electric, never more so than after today’s Michigan upset of Ohio State. Hail!See more..
Just across the Riverwalk and the Hart Plaza is this beautiful old fashioned skyscraper. The entrance is around the corner, from a side street. It's a working office edifice and basically you can see only the lobby which is really an amazing work of art with its colorful tiles. The only thing that annoyed me was the security officer was following me all the time (of my 5 min I was there) asking me if I need something.See more..

4.5Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse(694 reviews) - This site was my first taste of Mackinaw City. Temporarily closed - Closed until May 11, 2023 Spent 1-2 hours Lighthouses • History Museums
Made to be Seen. A point in the storm and a guiding beacon since 1889, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse helped passing ships navigate through the treacherous waters of the Straits of Mackinac. There's just as much to see from the top of the tower as inside the original buildings. Authentically restored quarters and exhibits, including the original lens and the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Museum, this "Castle of the Straits" is a true gem of the Great Lakes. This is Mackinac.See more..
I arrived in Southhaven early and was able to find a parking place right downtown. And I walk to the lighthouse which was about a mile round trip. Really nice Beach area. The lighthouse is at the end of the boat Marina so it was fun to watch the boats go through the channel. The town itself was full of restaurants and little beach shops. Once you get out of the lighthouse area the rest of the town is pretty run down. So the concentrated area where it would be considered the tourist area is very small parking is definitely at a premium.See more..
4.5Frankenmuth Cheese Haus(681 reviews) - A must do when visiting Frankenmuth Speciality & Gift Shops
A piece of Frankenmuth history, put this place on your must do list while in Frankenmuth. Right in the center of town. Even if you do not like cheese it is still a great place to visit. I did buy a small chunk of white cheddar cherry cheese that was so delicious. So many types of cheese, some more expensive than others. A great shop to spend some time in browsing around. We also enjoyed the German storytelling outside the store, just watch for the little doors to open up & see who comes out!See more..
This is a great place to walk the pier and watch the sunset, even on a cold fall day. I suppose that could be said of any lighthouse/beach on the Michigan side of Lake Michigan, but it holds true here. Right now the lake water level is high, so be prepared to get your feet wet if you go to the far side of the outer light. We parked for free, but I doubt you could during the peak tourist season.See more..
We’ve been up here before, and it truly does not disappoint. If you go for sunset, arrive early for your spot, bring chairs, snacks, blanket as it can get cold and a camera for sure. We went twice this visit, one early evening and it was a zoo, people looking for spots to park, second visit was mid afternoon on a beautiful, but windy day. We had more time to enjoy without all the people walking around looking for the right picture angle. The mountain has two drives one headed towards Eagle Harbor, one towards Copper Harbor, this one is the cool twisty one and has a great overlook about half way, City of Copper Harbor and beyond, really a gorgeous view, don’t pass this by! 4.5Miners Falls(612 reviews) - Second best falls we’ve seen in the UP so far according to us Waterfalls
Exceeded our expectations! A beautiful wide path through the woods to the falls gives you a nice view from the platform with minimal steps & some small hills. However, for the best view it is worth going down the flight of steps to the lower platform if you’re able to. About a 1-1/2 mile round trip walk. We’ve seen a few waterfalls throughout the UP but certainly not all of them. So far this is our 2nd favoritest. Beautiful!!!See more..
