Strange, I was christmas shopping and thought I would stop at J C Penney to look for a few gifts. Although they just put in a sephora section- an Upgrade I assume, the store has less clothing, it was a mess with clothing items that looked second rate- the New Baltimore strip mall JCP had many items not seen here- and better displayed ( I realize it was christmas time shopping and took that into account). But I just get the feeling this store is on its way out. Getting second level materials to sell. We will see. It is struggling. Not much left inside.See more..

First off, let me caution you that 3 of the photos, including the photo advertising The Village are not from The Village but from the actual City of Rochester about 4 miles down the road. The same goes for several if the reviews, they are telling you about the City of Rochester and not the mall. The mall itself is great, it is walkable, there are several benches to take breaks, things for the kids to do, and more. The shops range from local small businesses all the way up to your big chain stores and restaurants. Several times a year there are activities at The Village of RH, like when they light up the mall Christmas lights and tree, trick or treating for the kids, Easter Bunny visits and more, some of these activities close down the streets in the mall. All in all stop by and visit it, at least once.See more..

Here today for dinosaurs and dinosaurs alone. A SWEET collection of moving dinosaurs that had my boys begging to go back for the rest of our vacation. For those that complain about them being silly plastic dinosaurs... know that dinosaurs are now extinct so impossible for Sloan to bring in real ones. My two and four year old boys loved them and we went around that circle endless times to see them move again and again. This mall use to be so busy the poor economy is taking it down. This mall has good end caps Walmart, JCP, Yonkers. A lot of the small stores have been going out of business. They are starting to improve this by doing a few updates. I recommend going during the day at night it is over tinned with teenagers who have nothing better to do! Applebees is the only food location in this mall but there is a McDonald's and Mexican food place across from the mall. See more..
Ollie's is a great place to grab a deal, or find a gem that you never heard of. I found a package of air purifying bags for $4.99. I am not sure how these should be used, but it was a unique find. I also found a large package of protein drinks for $8.99 that had 30 grams of protein at 170 calories per carton. The favors varied from vanilla to chocolate, but all appeared to contain milk. Not great for IBS, vegans or lactose intolerant people. I also had great conversations with the staff, shoppers and a homeless man named Jo-Jo outside of the store. Now is a great time to go get all of the quality designer clothing at cost at the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store at Birch Run. I was delighted to meet a family shopping for a small son, so I went and bought them an $100 gift card. I successfully harassed the rest of the staff, and told them that corporate would be there soon. All-and-all I did not cause as must trouble during this visit (as in the past). I expect GREAT sales. In fact, I am disappointed that the Home Collection was downsized to a small display. I used to get designer home collection wash clothes for $3.99. Mr. Lauren is so proud of David's ability to improve the Purple Line which should NEVER make it to the Factory Store. I think it will be a sad day for luxury designers if they have to move the Purple Line to a Walmart, Kmart or Amazon. This is a staple brand since 1967. True luxury at wholesale prices.See more..
