5.0Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore(2.173 reviews) - Beautiful scenery by land or water; big sandy beaches Sunday: Bodies of Water • National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
Park located on the shoreline of Lake Superior encompassing cliffs, dunes, waterfalls and lakes.See more..
Checked out this natural wonder. It's colors like that of the Caribbean in the UP of Michigan! It's a short walk from parking, and picnic area. The trail leads to a glass bottom barge that runs on a cable where you turn a wheel yourself to move out across the water. You can view large lake trout and see sunken logs and bubbling sand where the spring flows. There is also a viewing deck. Back up by parking is a gift shop where you can also get drinks and ice cream. Free entrance if you have a yearly Michigan Recreational sticker. $36 for non residents for all state parks is a bargain!See more..
5.0Tahquamenon Falls(319 reviews) - See both Upper & Lower Falls Bodies of Water
Easy well paved walkways and boardwalks at both locations. Drivable between them. Well marked by signs. Upper Falls Easy wide path with a number of look out points. 94 steps down with handrails to viewing platform for better view. It’s 1/4 mile each way. You can see falls from look out points as well. There’s also a store & area to buy food & eat. There was a man playing the guitar in the center sitting area. Lower falls 1/2 mile to main look out point .. with a second look out for next smaller fall up about 200 feet & then you can continue into the bridge. Bridge is 1/4 past look out platform (so 3/4 from start). Well paved paths. There are a few looks out areas along the way. Both are accessible to anyone. They are starting to build a gift shop and bathroom that will be nice once done.See more..
5.0Lake of the Clouds(291 reviews) - A fall beauty not to be missed! Bodies of Water
What a beautiful way to spend a fall afternoon! Even though we were not at the leaf peak yet there were some trees in the valley that had started to turn scarlet and yellow, it was stunning. The price per vehicle to get into the Lake of the Clouds lot is $9.00 and well worth it for all the natural beauty. The overlook is breathtaking and there are a lot of different views of the lake. The trail is a loop that is pretty short and handicapped accessible and an easy walk for all ages and abilities. Be sure to bring a camera, the view is something you will want memories of for sure.See more..

4.5North Beach(134 reviews) - Nice Clean Beach Bodies of Water • Beaches
There were multiple beaches to choose from in the South Haven area, but my boyfriend and I enjoyed North Beach the most. There is a concessions stand with plenty of food to choose from, as well as bathrooms. There is a play area for kids and tons of space. There is paid parking right on the beach, but if you pay to park at one beach, then it works at the other beaches in the area. We just parked in the neighborhood right by the beach and walked over. The water and sand were both very clean.See more..

5.0Iargo Springs(67 reviews) - Gorgeous on a fall day! Bodies of Water
We had a wonderful time exploring the overlooks as well as the lower boardwalk at Iargo Springs. It’s beautiful in autumn. It was also mobbed, with little mask wearing in tight spaces. The 300 steps down to the river and the springs themselves are well worth the effort.See more..
4.5Gallup Park(67 reviews) - Wonderfull Park in Ann Arbor; Great for Dog Walking Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water • Parks

Both times I've come have been for mountain biking. 4.5McCourtie Park(28 reviews) - Save this property! It is a treasure! Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
What an incredible piece of history! Kudos to the township and park department for maintaining such a treasure. Built in the 19th century and still a wonder! Herb McCourtie was a very generous man AND must have had a huge streak of fun in him to want to create these detailed concrete trees and bridges to look like wood. Of course, it helped that his business was Concrete! And HUGE beautiful birdhouses that accommodate over 200 birds. Do read up on the history prior to visiting as it will enrich the time you spend here.See more..
4.5Summit Park(27 reviews) - Our wedding vow renewal 2021 Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Parks • Playgrounds
We were married on this beach in 2011 and came back for our 10-year anniversary wedding vow renewal on the beach. There was a little bit less beach now than there was 10 years ago but it is still very nice. One of the things I like about this beach is there's some good rock hunting to be done here. All the children and adults love the beach. It seems as beaches became a very popular place in the last 10 years. In the afternoon lots of people go get food at the bortell's food market and bring it here to the picnic tables to eat and to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Michigan. Kudos to Michigan Parks department for the wonderful playground equipment that they've added here for little kids. The bathrooms were also very nice here and very clean. See more..
4.5Torch Lake(17 reviews) - Michigan’s piece of paradise Bodies of Water
Have been coming to torch lake since I was a child and recently visited to celebrate my 40TH birthday.. By far the most beautiful lake in Michigan! The only downside is unless you have or rent a boat it is difficult to experience the lake in full as there are limited areas for access.. would definitely recommend renting a boat and going to the famous sandbar! Water is crystal clear and amazing hues of turquoise and blues, definitely Michigan’s hidden pice of paradise!See more..
4.0JR Resort(16 reviews) - Great location! Bodies of Water
We stayed at the Lakefront Cottage, and I highly recommend it!! I don't think we would have had as good a time in any of the other cottages. I loved being right on the water. I recommend bringing or renting a boat with it. The cottage was very clean but maybe a little too cozy for some. We had 6 people here for the week and we did fine. Again, spend the little bit extra and rent the Lakefront. Well worth the little extra money!!See more..
4.0Wakeley Lake(15 reviews) - Wish it was how it used to be. Bodies of Water
20th year going to wakeley to camp and fish. The big bluegills are non existent and the bass and pike are small. The bass look like they don't have a good food source as they are very skinny. Lake used to be a big fish factory. Not sure lake is being managed correctly or of people are poaching fish. Its catch and release people. It is also a lake you don't go to party, it is a quiet place.See more..

4.0Lake Hudson Recreation Area(10 reviews) - Large, private, grassy sites with lots of trees. Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
Camped here with friends over Memorial Day weekend. Sites were large, grassy, part sun/part shade. Lots of trees which was great! Lots of privacy here. Not crammed in on top of your neighbor. We were down wind from the vault toilet which was pretty stinky. We must have walked over 20x throughout the weekend to shut the door. Appreciated the hand sanitizer mounted to wall though. Beach area looked nice but we never swam there, only rode our bikes down to check it out. Saw some water sites that were phenomenal! We were jealous. Maybe we can snag one next time. There's electricity at the campsites, but no water. There's one well w/ a hand pump but was it was VERY hard to pump. Hope you're in shape! :) Be sure to guard your food. Raccoons are not afraid of people. They were trying to get into our bins when we were sitting 2ft away.See more..
5.0Beaver Lake(8 reviews) - One of the clearest lakes you'll find! Bodies of Water
I have been going to Beaver Lake since I was a little girl. It is so clear that you can see the sand on the bottom in the middle of the lake! There are a lot of clams, so kids will have a great time looking for them! The only thing to keep in mind is swimmer's itch season...See more..

4.0Diamond Lake(4 reviews) - Diamond for a reason Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water Diamond is a very appropriate name for this beautiful lake. The water is crystal clear and sparkles when the sunlight dances on its surface. Water sports and fishing are a constant presence. You will see sailboats whenever the wind picks up a bit. There is a car ferry that transports residents from the public boat launch to the island which is at the center of the lake. Diamond Lake and Club 50+ (privately owned property) is our favorite hideout whenever we travel to Southwest MI.See more..

5.0North Hydro Park(1 review) - This hidden gem of a park is the best small picnic area in Ypsi. Bodies of Water • Biking Trails • Parks I live in the area and come to this park on walks all the time so I've seen it at many different times of the day and many days of the week. There is a great picnic pavilion with tables and grills and a well-maintained restroom building. While it's always been very quiet when I've visited, perfect for a nice quiet place to read a book and relax, for those who are interested in more activity you can fish in the Huron River or use the newly built launch area to launch your kayak or canoe or row-boat. It's a great place for bringing small kids if you want to teach them to fish, and a great place to put in on the River. There is a path all the way around the park with a boardwalk down to the river just below Ford Lake Dam. Bring a picnic, bring the family, bring a blanket and a fishing rod and a kayak. set up your lawn games for a family get-together. If you're looking to get back to nature, this is your location.See more..
4.0Whitmore Lake Preserve(1 review) - Another Washtenaw County nature preserve gem Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water Visited this preserve on 11.29.17 and enjoyed a very pleasant hike. Trails are well-marked although the large number of leaves on the ground at this time of the year made it a little difficult once or twice to distinguish the trail. Terrain is rolling hills both in and out of forested areas along with marshy areas and ponds. It is a beautiful area to walk through and we found it very quiet and peaceful. There was no noise from traffic while we were there. We did not know there was a preserve in Whitmore Lake and will definitely visit it again. It would be interesting to see the preserve during different times of the year.See more..
