This hidden gem of a park is the best small picnic area in Ypsi.
I live in the area and come to this park on walks all the time so I've seen it at many different times of the day and many days of the week. There is a great picnic pavilion with tables and grills and a well-maintained restroom building. While it's always been very quiet when I've visited, perfect for a nice quiet place to read a book and relax, for those who are interested in more activity you can fish in the Huron River or use the newly built launch area to launch your kayak or canoe or row-boat. It's a great place for bringing small kids if you want to teach them to fish, and a great place to put in on the River. There is a path all the way around the park with a boardwalk down to the river just below Ford Lake Dam. Bring a picnic, bring the family, bring a blanket and a fishing rod and a kayak. set up your lawn games for a family get-together. If you're looking to get back to nature, this is your location.
