We enjoyed the sunset cruise aboard the Emita II on June 8. Everything from the harbor, parking, crew, live music, bar, ship, siteseeing, and sunset was 5 stars. We will definitely be back and will recommend to others! We have also rented jet skis from the MC location in the past and had a very positive experience. Keep in mind that the lake conditions can change in an instant and the waves can be very dangerous. We had them for 2 hours and while the lake stated out smooth, it was very choppy on the way back in.See more..

This is just a great company. They have a Twitter feed for you to check weather conditions. We had originally scheduled for Saturday over 4th of July weekend. The Twitter feed said it might be a little rough, and we were debating since we had two 12 year olds and a 13 year old all with their own kayak. (No tandem kayaks for Turnip Rock trip.) While we were thinking about it, I got a text saying that if you were a beginner, you probably shouldn’t go out that day. I called, they canceled and helped us get rescheduled on Sunday. Because it was a holiday weekend, I couldn’t get all 6 of us rescheduled at the same time. But they said not to worry about that. When we showed up, even though our bookings were 30 minutes apart, they let us all go out at the early time. The guys down at the dock were helpful and gave us a quick little paddling lesson. My friends and I do a canoe/kayak trip every year on different rivers and this was our first trip on the Pine. The campground sites are nice and secluded. Each site is pretty much obscured from other sites and private. They have lots of options for kayaks and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They use multiple drop off points to accommodate any length of trip and make it really easy. We rented a 24-foot pontoon boat and added a tube rental. The boats are noticeably new so that was an added extra. The sand dunes were directly across from the rental facility so we were there in a flash. My granddaughters climbed the dune quickly while I, their Nana, climbed a bit more slowly but got to the top with the girls giggling at my climbing technique. We then went tubing. I volunteered to be the first one to go. My son, known for speeding, drove the boat sensibly so I could ride the tube. The girls said he only went 20 mph. :) My granddaughter surprised my son and me with her acrobatic moves on the tube. She's a horseback rider and it looked as though she was galloping in the water! We rented the boat for 4 hours and every moment was enjoyable. If you like boating, you'll like this experience!See more..

The campground was easy to find and getting checked in was a breeze! My wife and I stayed in a cabin and were quite pleased. It was in great condition and the mattresses were comfortable. Although it was hot outside the cross breeze inside the cabin was refreshing. The restrooms/showers were clean and BIG. Someone could arrive totally unprepared to camp and canoe/kayak and find everything needed inside of the camp store. Docking in the water at the campground was perfect. The only thing better than the details above are the owners. Friendly. Hospitable. Helpful. We will certainly visit again with a larger group to share the experience with others.See more..

What a great experience we had with Lexington Charter Boat in Lexington! My friend and I culminated our girl's weekend with a kayak ride. The rental is located right on the water in front of the Windjammer restaurant. Cole from LCB was fantastic! He was fun, informative and patient with us. They are very safety oriented and after filling out numerous forms did a thorough out of the water demonstration. We are active women of a certain age who had kayaked before, but Cole and his co workers were very helpful. The water that morning was picture perfect and calm. They even took pictures and videos for us to remember our visit. We plan to kayak again with Lexington Charter Boat when we visit and hope we have employees like Cole there to help us!See more..

Great location to learn to paddle board, Mick is a great instructor, easy to understand, flexible and patient. There is an island which makes it a great adventure for kids, mine were super motivated to 'explore' the island. The lake has a sandy bottom making it great to swim, and easy to recover if you fall off the board. If you are interested, which my family was, the lake provides great lessons to be learned about Michigan History and Geology that Mick is happy to share. Paddle boarding makes all lessons super enjoyable. Great resource in a small town setting with great instruction, great setting and great equipment. We would highly recommend and do it again!
