Caone the River Raisin

Starting at Dundee you paddle down stream to the Livery. The river is full of wildlife. You can set your own pace, but typically it takes about 2-3 hours. The staff go out of their way to make this easy from all aspects including price. We had a great day .

Nice river to try out first family canoe trip
Took my 10-yr old son on the 3-hr trip - we each had our own kayak. They take you to Dundee, which I think is about 7 miles up-river. For the 2/3 the water is shallow enough to get out of your canoe or kayak in the middle. We packed our lunch and pulled off on a shore to eat. It gets a little deeper for the last 1/3, but I doubt it's over 5-6 feet. It is not a fast current, so you're going to need to paddle some - especially in that last 1/3. I had a tow rope with my to pull my son when he needed a break. We finished in 3:40, including our stop. I think it would be a long trip for kids much younger than that unless they're used to that sort of thing. The site itself is a primitive campsite. There's a port-a-pot there & a changing room, but not much else. You can buy water and bug spray (don't forget that) where you pay.

    Kyaking
Started in dundee and ended at the campsite. There is nowhere to stop in between for a break. It's hard to see the campsite they are missing their dock. People running the place are nice. It took just over 2 hours with active paddling.
