Sunset Cruise was Amazing!

We enjoyed the sunset cruise aboard the Emita II on June 8. Everything from the harbor, parking, crew, live music, bar, ship, siteseeing, and sunset was 5 stars. We will definitely be back and will recommend to others! We have also rented jet skis from the MC location in the past and had a very positive experience. Keep in mind that the lake conditions can change in an instant and the waves can be very dangerous. We had them for 2 hours and while the lake stated out smooth, it was very choppy on the way back in.

A lovely way to start our vacation!
We kayaked in Michigan City with the Harbor Country folks right there by the lighthouse museum - LOVED it. Great staff (yay LUKE!) and they made me feel prepared and safe, even though me and my family (hubs and 11 and 14 year olds) had never been kayaking on a lake or large canal like this before. They gave us a safety briefing, checked all our floats and equipment and explained why and what they did. There was a small craft warning on Lake Michigan so we needed to stay in the canal - they explained where we were and what we could see and warned us that the wind might be a lot harder on the way back upstream so we needed to pay attention to how far we got. It was just a really fun experience and the folks who work there were friendly and interested and joked with us. Also, the canal is really cool and there's a train bridge downstream that turns - it was absolutely lovely (and not TOO hard to paddle back, thankfully!).

    Nice Tour
We took the lake tour on the Emita II and it was very nice. Tour guide was knowledgeable of the area and the crew were all very friendly. Only downside was the parking situation. We had a difficult time finding a place to park where a permit wasn’t required or paying a $15 fee to park at the park. Glad we arrived early as it took us 20-30 minutes to find a place.
