4.5Leonardo da Vinci's Horse(406 reviews) - A TRUE Masterpiece of SIZE & SPLENDOR ❤️ Monuments & Statues

4.5Lumberman's Monument(176 reviews) - Nice monument and informational stop Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
This was a nice informational stop on our River Road Scenic Byway drive. Besides the Monument itself, there were plaques that explained the history of the logging industry. There was a visitor center that was closed when we went (in March). See more..
Was quite a challenge when seven of us tried to ride my 61 Chevy hood down the sand bank all at once in 1971. Got hot on our bare feet, had to bale out half way down. Paul made it all the way to the water. Can I have my hood back now?See more..
4.5Michigan War Dog Memorial(21 reviews) - Interesting dog cemetery Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Cemeteries • Monuments & Statues
While this cemetery has many older sites with pets, it has been re-established as a war dog cemetery and caters to service dogs. The site has been updated, headstones exposed and new improvements installed, including dedicated parlking. I highly recommend a visit as the displays are educational and the experience is interesting. There are only 1 or 2 of these war dog cemeteries in the US.See more..

5.0Michigan Fireman's Memorial(13 reviews) - An excellent and great tribute to all firefighters Spent < 1 hour Monuments & Statues
Went to this beautiful memorial site for the first time this year and found it to be a very humbling experience. It is a year round memorial about a mile away from Roscommon, Michigan, dedicated to the valiant fallen firefighters from all across the State of Michigan with their names, etched in marble slabs, a large statue of a fireman and various tribute markers, all on a beautifully maintained hillside with sidewalks, stairs and a parking lot. The annual "memorial service" that is held every year, coincides with the Fireman's Festival activities at the fairgrounds, which also has been an annual event for thirty six years. It is not just for firemen, it is for everybody. The Memorial site alone is an excellent and great tribute to all firefightersSee more..

I saw this memorial and had to stop to look at it. My cousin gave his life for our country in Viet Nam, and his name is on this wall, as well as some "boys" I went to school with. I'm so thankful their lives and deaths are being honored. I hope many will take time to visit this memorial. There are places to sit and each branch of military is recognized.See more..

So you can easily see these all on the street, and most of them are in one paved square along the sidewalk. They explained of course about some well-known pioneers, as well as some lesser-known. I'm pretty sure they spent a pretty penny on these, and if you are into cars this is a must do. It's neat to learn about some inventors that I never heard of, and how they contributed to something we take for granted everyday sometimes. Usually all we hear about is Henry Ford. Once I can find my pictures, I will post them.See more..

4.0Kiss Monument(1 review) - Great story Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
Had a brief stay in town, as I am always on the lookout for unusual items I found this looking at google maps. I then read the story behind it on the website. As I love music and Kiss (the band) as well I had to see this. Best thing was it is free and easily accessible at any time. Apparently the diehard Kiss fans already know about this so it's a good place to stop for read and photo. I could certainly appreciate the excitement that Kiss visiting this small town in 1975 would have made. Even though it was obviously one of Gene Simmons early PR stunts I likely what they did and even more so to learn that they still keep in contact with some of the residents from here. Great story and I enjoyed stopping here.See more..
