A TRUE Masterpiece of SIZE & SPLENDOR ❤️
The Renaissance mans plans to sculpt a 24-foot bronze horse were never realized until an American sculptor created two models based on da Vincis drawings, one of which graces the Frederik Meijer Gardens.

Surprising and Amazing!
We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Meijer Gardens. Originally I was interested in seeing the DaVinci horse, but was amazed at the other wonderful sculptures by a variety of artists. The children’s garden was wonderful even though we are grandparents and traveling sans children. The kids there appeared to be having the time of their lives with the interactive Great Lakes water feature.

Awesome site to behold!
The American Horse sculpture at Meijer Gardens is truly a site to behold. It is huge! Just place your loved ones in front of it for a photo...and they are dwarfed. Great to walk all around it and underneath it. Don't forget to read the plaques describing how sculptor Nina Akamu was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's equine drawings and worked with Fred Meijer to create this piece for Meijer Gardens and and a second one for the city of Milan in Italy. Just one of so many masterful and playful sculptures at Meijer Gardens.
