Just cool

Love seeing this in Detroit. Would have been fun to ride in it a long time ago. You can't really get close to it.

Boy do I have stories
I grew up in Allen Park. When we were young we used to play in the woods off of Southfield rd. We were a bit mischievous. There was an unlocked door, and it did not have a fence back then. We used to go inside and climb i side the structure. I am 63 now so it has been there a long time. It has changed over the years. It even had a big nail protruding out of it for awhile. Paul McCartney even stopped by it to pose for a photograph. It originally was a Ferris wheel for the worlds fair. It is not accessible now except for a picture. It is located on the east bound I 94 freeway between Oakwood and the Saiuthfield freeway.

HUGE Tire!! Interesting Photo Opportunity!!
The Uniroyal Tire is HUGE. Not really worth going searching for, but if you happen to be in the area, or if you can do a slight detour to go past it, it is definitely worthwhile. It is off the I-94 (if I remember correctly) and is not really accessible. However, a drive-by provides a good photo opportunity, and kids will love it!! It was apparently part of a Ferris wheel in the past and stands today as a nice symbol of the immense automotive industry that used to thrive here. Nice attraction!!
