We love this zoo!
The Detroit Zoo has 125 acres of naturalistic habitats for more than 2,000 animals from anteaters to zebras and features award-winning attractions such as the National Amphibian Conservation Center, Great Apes of Harambee and Arctic Ring of Life. The Zoo’s newest attraction is the spectacular Polk Penguin Conservation Center, the largest facility for penguins in the world.

Loved seeing the polar bears
On an Autumn day Detroit zoo was not busy, but all but one food outlet was closed (and that outlet had closed by the time we got to it – or was never open in the first place!) – we should have been warned about this when we arrived (especially as our tickets contained a discount code of a pizza). The penguin house was good and loved seeing he polar and the brown bears.

The best zoo Ever!
The detroit zoo is the best place in the world! My last visit was in Augest. I try to go at least once a month and every time I go something has changed. There tiger exhibit is impressive with lots of room for them to play and swim. The two brothers aleksei and nikolai seemed to be enjoying there time in there habitat. Also the penguin exhibit is really awesome but will not be open do to repairs. I also have been learning a lot from the docents and volunteers there. They are so nice and helpful and if you have any questions they will be there to answer them. Also we got to see the new baby chimp named Zane. He was so cute! We also saw all three sliverback gorillas kongo, chip and chipua. Also the wolf exhibit is huge and has plenty of room for the two woves kaska and renner. The detroit zoo is an awe inspiring place to be and it makes me appriciate nature at its fullest and I encourage everyone to go to this zoo. I would pay as much money as I need to for this zoo to stay open its just that good. Again please go check out this zoo!
