It has tennis courts, a couple baby/toddler swings, and a sandbox that includes shovels and cars, and a little bouncy ride on.it has a bench and trash can. It's not paved so be aware. I also found this park after finding local LFL's (little free libraries)! They offer one here. Anyways, they have soccer goals, picnic shelters, a huge playground, an enclosed sandbox, baby swings, and tons and tons of open green areas. They have some paved sidewalk, but most is uneven grassy/dirt terrain. They have some trash cans. Parking is along the side streets (no main streets), so mostly on the side where the homes are. No bathrooms. See more..

I am a regular at the RO Farmer's Mrkt. Esp later in the summer and in the fall when the local farmers have the most to offer from in season produce. Currently construction around the market means parking is limited on site but across the street on the other side of the library (off 11 Mile Rd) is a brand new 500+ space parking structure with lots of parking. - Jekyll and Hyde
    Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Theaters
    Stagecrafters Baldwin Theatre image
1st let me say that I am embarrassed to say ..I had never heard of Stagecrafters before a couple weeks ago when I was reading an article about something in Royal Oak and there was a link to them at the bottom. I clicked it and read up on them a little bit and saw that they were doing a musical I love... Jekyll and Hyde. Now, I'm not gonna lie... saw the original on broadway with the people it was written for and absolutely loved it. I really was not expecting much... small nonprofit local theatre putting on a somewhat challenging show.... WOW. Was I wrong. The 3 main characters were awesome and had a terrific cast supporting them, unbelievable costumes and scenic design that put some profit minded theaters to shame.... I am definitely going to be going to their shows in the future... what a hidden gem. See more..
  12. 4.5 Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle (19 reviews)
    - Very nice venue and great staff
    Spent 1-2 hours Comedy Clubs
    Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle image
I went to see Annie Rauwerda (Depths of Wikipedia) here. All the folks that worked here were very friendly, pleasant, and outgoing. Make sure you eat before you come here because the food options only consist of popcorn or nachos. There is also a 2-item requirement, but there were some at my table that only got one, and the waiter didn't force them to buy a second one. Oh - you might have to share a table with others, but as a solo traveler, this was a benefit and not a problem. See more..

Spent < 1 hour History Museums
Royal Oak Historical Society Museum image
SWEET. The Royal Oak Historical Society Museum, located at 1411 W Webster Road & Crooks Rd, here in Royal Oak, Michigan, is VERY SWEET. It is located in the former Royal Oak Fire Department, Northwood Station, Firehouse. It has been here for all of my life. It is like a historical lighthouse for me. My wife and I paid it a visit THANKS TO Trip Advisor listing it as something to do here in Royal Oak. It is staffed by volunteers and the curator, Muriel Versagi, a most friendly and informative lady, was on duty when we visited. Our visiting with Muriel greatly enhanced our most pleasant visit. The museum is truly a blast-from-the-past for all local senior citizens. Thanks to all of you who have made this museum possible. I salute and I pay homage to you. Keep up your good work. See more..

We had so much fun and so many laughs at the golf center today! We started on the miniature golf adventure course. What a great course! It’s really pretty and we really enjoyed ourselves. After Mom (me!) won the round, we decided to try our hand at the driving range. So much fun! It is obvious that they are continuing to upgrade and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. This little place is a hidden gem! Its super clean, and a quaint book joint! I bet you could find pretty much anything. I was searching for a copy of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, I emailed the book store and he had it. Arranged to pick up a day or so later. When I got there the book he handed me was IMMACULATE! Then he took be to show me where the additional Bach books were. I was able to get an IMMACULATE copy of Illusions as well! If your in search of a classic book then THIS is definitely the place to try!! See more..
  18. 4.5 Starr Jaycee Park (7 reviews)
    - Starr Jaycee Park, 13-Mile Rd East of Crooks Rd, Royal Oak, MI.
    Parks
    Starr Jaycee Park image
The Starr Jaycee Park, located on the South side of 13-Mile Rd East of Crooks Rd, here in Royal Oak, Michigan, is a very nice park. The park was dedicated on December 5th, 1955, and is 28 acres in size. The park has a really great playground, a baseball / softball diamond, a football field, a Frisbee Golf Course, a Pavilion that may be rented (NOTE : the Pavilion can NOT be rented on-line. One must go to the city recreation department at 1600 N. Campbell to rent the Pavilion), Fitness Stations, picnic tables, a multi-purpose field, and a fitness trail. There are several free parking areas. They seem relatively small for the size of the park and, in fact, I have attended large group picnics here and had problems finding parking. There are train rides for children each summer / autumn month on the first full weekend of each month from noon to 4pm. I am not able to comprehend that this is the first review of the Starr Jaycee Park here on Trip Advisor. See more..

    - Still Outstanding

    Mt. Chalet image
Took my son here for a burger, beer and college basketball over the weekend. He has never been and I have not been for at least 15 years. They have not lost one step. Both burgers were outstanding. The fries are the most any restaurant will provide and the beers are ice cold and they keep them coming. Not sure why I have been gone for 15 years, but it won’t be another 15 until I am back. See more..

    - Loved this place

A fun atmosphere with great service and I loved the food. Our table of four shared the chicken nachos and they were fantastic! I ordered the lobster Mac-n-cheese and enjoyed that too!! This place had a nice list of craft beers and the "beer towers" are really fun too. Our waitress was great and we were impressed by "Eric-the Manager" who talked w us and made sure we were having fun! I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area! See more..
  26. 3.5 Royal Oak Music Theatre (78 reviews)
    - Nice venue for acoustic music
    Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Theaters
    Royal Oak Music Theatre image
The theater offers a nice and more intimate setting for acoustic music. We attended a concert by Tommy Emmanuel that was outstanding. The site lines were good, and where we were sitting, the sound was excellent. There is a small bar at the back of the auditorium. The drinks were inexpensive and very little waiting for a large crowd. See more..
