Whitefish Point Lighthouse, Michigan, United States
4.5 (601 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Upper Peninsula History Museums
If you are a boat nerd or Great Lakes lover this is a must see!
Our 4th trip in 30 years, so much to see on the grounds, Great Lakes Shipwreck museum is a must, $14 per person, gets you in all the buildings, the other buildings have wonderful docents and displays. The vast beach area provides an entire day of relaxation and beauty. Bring your chairs and watch the water. Large parking area but it is popular so we got there mid morning, busy when we left. Highly recommend!

Lighthouse and shipwreck museum
For a fee a day pass gives you access to the Shipwreck museum and lighthouse buildings showing you the way of life the light keeper would have. Volunteers are around to give you information. A beautiful shoreline offers a view of Lake Superior, and in the distance you can see isle Parisienne of Canada on a clear day. On the beach you can hunt for agates and yooperites. Part of beach is close at times for nesting birds.

lighthouse is well maintained
Visited for the first time during midweek and parking is sometimes hard to find at a busy historical attraction like this but eventually a spot opened up. the grounds are well taken care of. The beautiful beach and lighthouse are the main focal point along with the shipwreck museum altho is it priced on the high end for admission but very informing and interesting. there is also a gift shop and restrooms available. I saw many people collecting rocks on the beach and kids like to pile the smooth stones for others. very enjoyable time spent here and the lighthouse is well maintained.
