Had a great time

Bear in mind that my Uncle and I love anything with a motor and we're farm people. Having said that, we LOVED the Rouge tour; we spent almost 5hrs there. At the Henry Ford, I had planned for 1.5 days; I ended up booking 2 more nights at the hotel so we could return to the museum for 2 more days and we're already planning when we should go back. Sooo much more to see. Unfortunately I didn't see the schedule change in the village that indicated that everything is closed on Wednesdays in the Fall, so even though we strolled through the Village and read all of the information placards, we didn't get to go inside any of the houses or see craftsman plying their trades. I couldn't recommend the Rouge tour and the Henry Ford museum any more highly.

    Wow! Don't miss this!
Wow! This was a great experience and it exceeded our expectations. The opening film - in Ford's 4 million dollar theatre - was amazing. We are Ford owners and so it was interesting to hear about the innovations, history and more. I highly recommend it. When you buy a ticket to the Ford Museum of American Innovation, the factory tour add -on is only $8.

    A Must-See in Motor City
How can you miss seeing how cars are made in Motor City? The tour takes about 2 hours, including a bus ride to and from the factory in question. First you watch a somewhat hagiographic video (no surprise there) about Henry Ford; then an amazing 3-D demonstration of how the Ford truck is designed and built (sound is a bit deafening however). A visit to the rooftop to see the extent of the plant is followed by time strolling above the factory floor, watching the workers at their tasks. Pair this trip with a visit to the DIEGO RIVERA mural depicting a Ford factor in the Detroit Institute of Art.
