Along the way, you'll discover the North Slope Recreation Area, Crystal Reservoir Gift Shop, Historic Glen Cove Inn, and the Summit House. There are three lakes for fishing, picnic areas, hiking trails, and breathtaking views. Frisco or San Francisco. Denver or Dallas. It doesn't matter where you're from. If you've skied here, you've been raised on some of the best Colorado has to offer. For generations, people have valued a down-to-earth ski experience that puts friends, family and a relaxed mountain atmosphere above all else. It's why the Colorado front range has always considered Copper the home team, and why families from across the globe call Copper home. 4.5Downtown Estes Park(1.005 reviews) - Fun Town with Cute Shops Spent More than 3 hours Neighborhoods
We really enjoyed downtown Estes Park although we couldn't fully enjoy it because it started to rain (we went during spring) so the town was not crowded like I've heard it is other times of the year. It is definitely touristy. Many quaint and cool shops to explore. I love how the river runs right through town. Be sure to walk the river walk and take in the Stanley Hotel, both are so worth seeing. Don't forget to bring home some fresh salt water taffy. The place pretty much closes down after about 5 pm. There are great places to stay too all along the beautiful scenic roads. This is a family town and there is tons for the kids to do. Rocky Mountain National Park is right there, and that will take you at least a full day to see, so plan to stay overnight if you want to get it all in.See more..
4.5Great Sand Dunes National Park(998 reviews) - What a fun experience! Spent More than 3 hours Mountains • National Parks • Deserts
This was so much fun! Sand boarding down the sand dunes was my favorite thing I did in Colorado. Here are some tips: 1. If you are looking to rent a sand board or sled, there is a place called Great Sand Dunes Oasis. This place is close to the sand dunes and is on your way to and back. It’s only $20 for a board or a sled. You are able to rent them but gotta return to the store before they close. 2. The visitor fee to the sand dunes is $25. 3. I would recommend wearing sandals or water shoes to the sand dunes. There is quite a walk to the actual sand dunes. There is an area in the middle that you have to cross that have water flowing through. So expect to get your feet wet. Plus if you are renting a sand board/ sled, they recommend you to use it barefoot or with socks on.See more..
