Something so simple downgrades the vacation.
What is their not to like and enjoy while in the Rocky mountains snowboarding and skiing? ONE THING! The sorry bus routes not being up to par! Stood almost an hour while being passed by 3 buses. Then another time the supposedly fewer people on the bus route was the excuse for taking some off the clock! A city that benefits from the tourists and bases its entire ski operation around something like an operative lift and bus rides is NOT DOING A GOOD JOB with poor and mismanaged bus route pickups!! I know plenty of places in Colorado that would make a bus run the route for the potential single skier waiting in the snow! Rumors from the park service employees were talking about the city "paying less and getting much less". My first bus route had an old and out of date schedule still posted on the shelter I sat in waiting! The City of Winter Park, CO needs to get with it immediately!!!

    A new favorite
My first time here. I was very happy to be here. I think this place now belongs in my pantheon of fabulous ski resorts, along with Vail and Big Sky. Like those places, it offered wide and varied terrain, though sometimes with long runouts at the end of otherwise lovely runs. Snow conditions of course will vary from time to time. We had packed powder, which they groomed pretty well. Weather was sunny for the first 2.5 days. The last day was COLD. Around zero. So we skipped that day. Lines were very short, especially on weekdays, when we could basically walk right on to the lifts / gondola. Lift operators were friendly. The only negative I can think of is the on-mountain food. There were lots of places to eat, and we were always able to get a table, but the choices were very limited and low quality. (Actually food in town was not impressive either, but I can't hold the mountain responsible for that.)
