   Gear Rentals
   Paula and Jill rented a car there last night. The line was long, and, although friendly, the staff seemed new at it. The car the ladies rented had mechanical issues. One of the women had difficulty getting to this off-airport facility, since the buses stop running at 11 PM. They try to add cost with added features, like "upgrading" you from front-wheel drive to all-wheel drive Then they hit the women with an additional $300 "security deposit" unexpectedly.    - Third try at the Manor House in recent years. It is a BUST!!!

   The Manor House in Ken Caryl Valley is a stately mansion built by the Shaeffers of Rocky Mountain News origins. It sits perched on a hill and has lovely views of the Valley. It is now open on Wednesdays at least sometimes for Happy Hour events. They just can't get it together. If they have a band make sure you sit outside even if it is raining. The music and the accoustics are so loud you cannot hear what the person sitting next to you is saying. And, bring your own appetizers because they will run out in the first hour. We finally left and went to our friends' house (also in the valley) and enjoyed our evening visiting without all the noise. See more..

   I love Old Chicago but coming to this one was a bad decision. We waited for 15 mins to be seated and then over one hour and a half and still didn't get our food. We asked for the check for our drinks so we could leave and go somewhere else. It wasn't busy - no reason for the delay. The manager came around and offered our food to go, on the house. We paid for our drinks. Good service recovery but still won't come back. So disappointing! See more..

   Attended a crowded concert and was surprised to see people in wheelchairs being pushed to the front row by the stage. Other guests were told to get out of the way. When we asked if there was ADA seating we were told that was the ADA seating. There was no way to get back through the crowd if someone would have had to use the bathroom or get a drink. There was no dedicated seating where people in wheelchairs didn't have to be shoved from behind as the crowd got more and more pushy as people were crowding in. I thought we were supposed to allow a certain number of seats for people with disabilities but this place had none. The staff was very rude when we asked where the ADA seating was located and said they could put them wherever they wanted. Totally disrespectful and dangerous if there had been an emergency and people would have had to evacuate. There was plenty of room on either side of the floor for guests and VIP's but it looked like anyone in a wheelchair was out of luck. See more..

   I went to the Van Eden Ranch for a senic horseback trail ride, but ended up spending 5 hours in the emergency room of a Denver hospital. The place was dirty with litter all over, I felt like I had stepped into the movie Deliverance. The horses were thin, their feet were not properly trimmed, and the horse I was giving to ride was very lame and sore. My horse kept rearing up and the trail person kept telling me he was excited and would settle down once we got into the ride. As we started to climb up the trail my sore lame horse stopped and refused to go forward, then he reared up and flipped over backwards with me. Thank goodness I do ride and I knew I did not want to be trapped under the horse so I took my feet out of the stirrups and jumped off. I spent the next week recovering from mutiple bruises, pulled muscles and stitches. Do NOT go on a trail ride at the Van Eden ranch. The horses are not properly cared for and I feel they are very not fit for a beginner rider to be put on. See more..

   Worst ski lesson ever. We spent $140 on this and it was the worst experience of my life. I was in an intermediate lesson, and it was stupid. We stayed in the valley, doing chair 7 and greens for 1 hr 30 min of the 2 and a half hours. We finally went over to the basin at about 2:30 and did green runs for the whole time. We didn’t do a single blue level run, and I didn’t learn a thing. The mountain is great, but the lessons couldn’t be worse. Never going to be doing one again. See more..
