    - SCAM
Tuesday: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Escape Games
Do not waste your money. I booked 6/16/19 for a 7/12/19 6:30-7:30 event. Arrive at the location @ 6:10PM only to discover the doors locked, location emptied out. One of the tenants next door explained to me they have been closed for WEEKS! No response back from them, the phone number is out of service. Charged $300 & have not been refunded. Received an email 7/11/19 reminding me of the event. Received an email today thanking me for coming what a joke & a scam. Disputing with Discover currently. See more..
  3. 1.5 The Cabin Bar & Grille (3 reviews)
    - Smoky, but good food
    Tuesday: 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM Bars & Clubs
The Cabin has excellent (& huge) salads and decent pizza as well. We often times go in to hang out on the weekend, but we usually can't stay long because the smoke gets to us. It is typically a younger crowd, but it's still a lot of fun. See more..

Tried emailing twice, left a voicemail AND sent a facebook message that was marked as seen....No attempt to reply to any of my forms of communications have been made!!! See more..

  10. 1.0 McCalls Dam State Park (1 review)
    - Not a Good Picnic Spot
Spent < 1 hour State Parks
Imagine a school child that has to write a report on the Presidents of the United States. The assignment is to list one accomplishment of each President. What does the child do with William Henry Harrison? McCalls Dam State Park is the William Henry Harrison of the PA state parks system. The park is small (only 8 acres), isolated (the approach from the north is unmarked; the one from the south easily missed), surrounded by state forest land and close to other better-known parks. The park itself consists of about 10 picnic tables. The tables appear to have been in the park for decades. Large trees shade most of them, so that the tables hold the woodland moisture and are perpetually damp. We picnicked at the only one that was fully in the sun. It was dry, but slightly warped. The stream through the park is not particularly interesting. Bugs were voracious. In short, we ate and ran. The only redeeming factor was a cluster of butterflies clinging to the base of a tall spruce. PA doesn't spend much money on this park. I suspect there is an occasional mowing of the picnic area and a much more infrequent cleaning of the vault toilet -- but that's about it. I can see why I found no Tripadvisor reviews about McCalls Dam State Park. Unless one is on a mission to visit all PA state parks, there is really no reason to visit this place. One wonders why it was made a state park at all and not just left as part of the state forest which surrounds it. See more..

  14. 1.0 Salon Rouge (1 review)
    - Worst Salon in the Area
    Spent 2-3 hours Spas
My daughter went in for ombré and the stylist clearly didn't know what she was doing. My daughter came home in tears because her hair didn't look any different than when she went into the salon. That was on Saturday. I called on Tuesday when they reopened to make an appointment to get it fixed because on their website they "guarantee" their work. Not once on the call did they tell me I would be charged AGAIN!! When I took her for the fix, the stylist, Gloria, was rude and confrontational. She obviously doesn't know anything about customer service. My daughter is 15 and never had her hair colored before so she was already uncomfortable. When I picked her up when she was done the manager said I owed a balance because my daughter left on Saturday without saying she was unhappy and then proceeded to reprimand her. I asked to speak to the owner (a man) and his response was that my ex-husband shouldn't have taken my daughter to the original appointment and it should have been me! Can you believe I got parenting advice with a touch of male chauvinism! So, my daughter and I got berated by the owner and his manager (daughter) because their stylist sucked. So, the moral of the story. This is a salon that: 1. Doesn't do quality work 2. Has rude and unprofessional staff 3. Has false advertising on their website 4. Doesn't believe in customer service Here is a list of great local salons 1. Mira 2. Lords & Ladies 3. Citrus See more..
  15. 1.0 Ivy Creek Creations (1 review)
    - WORST SHOP OWNER I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!
    Speciality & Gift Shops
This is literally the worst shop I have ever dealt with, because the owner is so RIGID and SET IN HER WAYS, that she puts her RULES over the INTERESTS of her customers. My daughter purchased a jar of peach habanero jam from Ivy Creek Creations, because she knows how much I like peach jam. My kidneys failed in December 2020 from a chronic kidney disease, and in January of 2021, I had to begin kidney dialysis. I am not able to have anything hot, especially hot peppers. My daughter did not realize that the peppers were hot. The day that my daughter purchased the jam, I messaged this store on Facebook, and asked if my daughter could exchange the jam for another flavor. The store owner never responded to my message. A week later, my daughter returned to Volant for the Harry Potter day and tried to return the VACUUM SEALED jar of jam. The store owner told my daughter that food items are not returnable, without even trying to understand our situation. Even the grocery stores return jars or containers of unopened food. After I sent several unanswered messages on Facebook, the owner finally sent me a message threatening that she was going to report me. If she had answered my initial message on Facebook, there would have been no need for me to send additional messages. Ivy Creek Creations is ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR and not the HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF ITS CUSTOMERS! I would recommend that you skip Ivy Creek Creations and shop at one of the other wonderful specialty stores in Volant who actually care about their customers! See more..
  16. 1.0 Webb Winery (1 review)
    - Ugly Sweater Bingo
Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Webb Winery image
Webb Winery had been promoting an Ugly Sweater Bingo event on Facebook for quite some time. For a fun girls night out my daughter, my friend and I decided to attend. We were all excited and even created our Ugly Sweaters as a contest was part of the festivities. We arrived about 30 minutes early in order to get a seat as the website showed “an overwhelming response “. To our surprise about 15 people were already seated and there was NO room for us. No one greeted us as we arrived or offered to find us seats- oh wait- the bartender did offer to squeeze in a “high top “ where we could stand (mind you the event was to last approximately 2 hours) with plenty of wine available. Can you spell “disaster “? We were so disappointed that we left. I have never visited Webb Winery prior to this but let me say it was my first AND lat time there See more..
  17. 1.0 South Fork, Pennsylvania 15956 (1 review)
    - Hostile and Rude
    Churches & Cathedrals
On Thursday August 13, 2020 at 10:49 AM, I called the church to find out if they have a website or have their services on YouTube due to Coronavirus social distancing. When looking them up on the web last night, they do have services on Facebook. I do not have a Facebook account nor do I want one due to Facebooks's issues. I still tried looking without creating an account but got Facebooks pop-up "log in or create an account". Just as soon as I clicked "not now", it popped back up. I called the office this morning and was shocked by "FIRST!". I thought I dialed the wrong number so I asked her if this was South Fork First United Methodist Church. I heard dead silence and then "Yehhhs." I tried to ask her if the church had a website or services on YouTube and also tried to explain that I do not have Facebook. She interrupted me, kept talking over me, would not let me speak. I had to try to speak over her "I'm trying to tell you", which she then stopped and gave a loud sigh! No website, no email, only contact is a phone number which when answered treats the caller rudely and as burdens. I should say that the area this church is in is a poverty stricken area where many of its congregants are elderly and do not have internet. The majority of young people move away once they graduate because there are no job opportunities here nor in the surrounding area whether coronavirus is here or not. Due to coronavirus, they have no computer, if they call the church like I did, they're treated rudely and disrespectfully. Jesus Christ never treated the sheep this way and neither should the South Fork First United Methodist Church which claims itself to be followers of Jesus! See more..
  18. 1.0 Young Peoples Community Center (1 review)
    - Pavillion party pooped by pooper
    Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes
You read correctly! The YPCC is responsible for these pavilions st the borough pool. We paid to reserve one nearly 2 months in advance. When the day came of course we contended with a few showers...not a problem and no one controls the weather...THE TOILET BACKING UP WAS NOT PART OF THE DEAL! the assured us bathroom use when I reserved and they did have it open. But within about 20 minutes of the start the toilet backed up! I called them to tell them and the lady who answered asked what exactly I wanted her to do about it. So frustrated I had to take time away from the party said being a plunger or send someone it's your job to do something since i rented it. We ended the call and a short time later a guy called me asking about my complaint and he said there wasn't much he could do from florida... FLORIDA! He asked how much longer we intended to be there (at this point it was maybe 3 or 4) we scheduled the party til 6 but you rent it for the day and can have it til midnight so how long I was staying shouldn't have mattered much. I had people leaving to go pee somewhere else and 2 guys peed in bottles in their trucks! Yuck! After several calls back and forth and my frustration growing I said I shouldn't have to deal with this during this party and as we were packing up to leave someone finally showed up and yelled out their window at us that they had opened the other bathroom! Ridiculous! We wont spend our hard earned money to have people deal with a sewage back up at a child's birthday party and be treated like crap when we just want something done about it. I should have sat there for the rented time just to prove a point. I spent tons of time on the phone dealing with an issue that while I understand may occur should have been fixed without a second thought. 4 hours with a toilet mess was absurd. See more..
