Great Ride! The wife and I had a great trip going through the forest and around beautiful lakes. The brand new Kawasaki powered through bogs and tore through the winding trails. It was flawless. Jim took the time to show us some secluded lakes and some neat saloons while explaining the history and local legends. In addition, Jim spent an extra hour talking with us about the area overall. We are only able to do this once or year, but we have been renting from Schafer's for several years and different owners through those years. We have always had a great experience with the staff and quality of pontoons we rent. This year was no different. I would however say the service and the staff this year were top notch. Very friendly, accommodating, and with a smile. From the moment they greeted us till the moment we left. THANK YOU. This is how we celebrate our teenage son's birthday with all his friends. Every year when it gets close to his birthday they start asking are going to get a pontoon and go fishing and swimming. It is really nice to see every year teenage boys having such a good time. It was a great day to be on Lake Minocqua, and our guide, Chad, was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and very funny He was passionate about the city and the lake. We got to see an eagles' nest with babies in it and an osprey rocketing down into the water and catching a fish. The wildlife on the lake was amazing, and the houses were pretty impressive. On a side note, I accidentally booked the wrong day, and Chad was very accommodating to get the right day and time. I would highly recommend this ride.See more..
Used the shuttle service to transport my kayak to the beginning of the D2 trip. It was easy to book and they showed up exactly as scheduled. The D2 trip (pine tree to Rt 13) was noted to be a 4hr trip but it only took 2hrs. Water was swift and fun. I recommend this trip!See more..
We went to Drifty's while vacationing in area. This was our family's first time kayaking. The staff was great and patiently answered all our questions. Prices were comparable to other boat rentals. The River was pretty calm and the pick up was on time. We did the shortest trip (about 2 hrs long), but want to do a longer trip in the future. Not too may places we felt comfortable getting out and relaxing/splashing, but the scenery was great! This is definitely a place to go for beginners and beyond.See more..
KWA is top notch! Shaun takes pride in his business and great customer service. We have been going there since he opened and would not think of going anywhere else now. Very nice and always clean canoes and kayaks. Back rests are on all canoe seats to make for a more comfortable trip down the beautiful Kickapoo. My sister and I went on the Bark River Tour. We had a fantastic time! The kayaks and life vests were very clean. Jon was on time to drop them off and was waiting for us at the end. He also had maps to show us so we had an idea of where we were going and what we could expect. I'd highly recommend this company! The Bark River had a fairly slow current and curved back & forth making it fun and relaxing. When we got to Crooked Lake, we kayaked along the shoreline where we saw fish, birds and turtles. At one point, we tucked our kayaks into the cattails in a cove and enjoyed the lunch we brought with us. It was so quiet and peaceful!See more..

Myself and four other friends booked a trip with Captain Alex on September 3, 2021. We were extremely pleased, and will be returning next year! We limited out with 25 fish, and he was absolutely amazing. His personality, and skill level are unmatched! We have fished on many charters, and I can say without a doubt this was the best. Alex responded fast, and was extremely helpful. As soon as I stepped on the boat, you could tell this charter was in a different class. The boat was miraculous, clean, and beautiful. We recently rented a pontoon for 2 full days of fishing on Green Lake. The second day, the weather was very sketchy, chilly, drizzling and windy. Lee cancelled the second day for us and no fees were charged to us. Pick up and drop off was easy and would rent from them again without hesitation. Lee was great to work with.See more..

We have a lovely lightweight canoe with wooden gunwales. When the stern seat became detached from the gunwale due rotting wood we turned to Bobby and Warren for their expertise with wood. They replaced the bad section of the gunwale with a new piece of ash (which they had on hand) and reattached the seat in just a couple days! The repair was beautiful. This is a great place to rent a canoe and paddle down the river. The trip we took was super easy and just the right length (4 hours) for us. Not sure what all of the options are but this is what was recommended to us given that we had not paddled a river before. The tavern itself is a step back in time! Carm and Mark could not have been more gracious. A storm came up while we were out and Mark came to meet us at the halfway mark (although we had passed by already, it was very kind of him to come and wait for us!). The sun came back out and we saw several eagles as we paddled along. Putting in and getting out were very easy. Highly recommend a stop here if you are in the area without your own canoe. Buyer beware do not purchase anything from this dealership or walk on their lot you will be sorry. I'm from Ohio and purchased what was supposed to be a brand new 80K boat sight unseen because it was advertised as a brand new boat. It was delivered to me with damage rust scratches scuffs and filthy and they already had my money so I had no choice but to fight after the fact. It's been over two months now and I still don't have anything resolved and I still don't have title to the boat. I'm trying to spread the word because I don't want anyone else to go through what I've been going through. They won't let me speak to anyone but a finance person they won't let me talk to the owner they won't let me talk to anyone they ignore my calls and emails like the plague. They are the most incompetent place I've ever dealt with and they just don't care See more..
I almost thought they were closed when I drove up at 7:30 in late Sept. Exterior lighting in almost nil. Great beer selection for the size of the place. Gent behind the counter was very friendly and cordial. You can get candy cigarettes, the sugar stick kind like you use to get when you were a kid back in the 70's. They don't taste the same, but it was still a cool find. I do not endorse children, or anyone smoking, but it was a fun throwback to find. Beer is about $1 more than I would pay at Festival, but always happy to support a local establishment when I am on vacay.See more..
