    During our tour of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, my husband and I stopped in Cornucopia at the beach. It was past the end of the season, so the Green Shed Museum was closed, but we were able to walk along the lakeshore and take in the lovely views. In addition to the museum, there are public restrooms just off the parking lot (which were open) and a small marina lined with pretty little boat houses and a bait shop. It looked for all the world like a little village around a lagoon. There is an artesian well (accessed by a spigot with a foot-operated handle) right at the parking lot for the beach that is available to the public for no charge. I filled up my water bottle, and the water is refreshingly pure. Even after the end of the summer season, it was worth stopping in Cornucopia to visit the beach and marina. I’m glad we did!
