  4. 4.5 Wisconsin Deer Park (1.444 reviews)
    - Favorite Dells Attraction
    Zoos • Parks
    Wisconsin Deer Park image
Literally the best experience to have in Wisconsin. Do yourself a favor and plan to stop here no matter what age you are. I am approaching thirty and found this to be one of my favorite Dells attractions on a recent visit. Who wouldn’t want to get up close and feed an obnoxious number of deer? Also, who knew there were so many different types of deer? The deer here want to come say hello in the most personal of ways – eating the crackers you hold in your hand. Purchase some food when you enter, it literally brings the deer to you in swarms. Once you feed them, they start to follow you too. Hands down a favorite experience in the Dells. See more..

  9. 4.0 Timbavati Wildlife Park (1.100 reviews)
    - Cool place to interact with animals but a bit pricy for the experience offered here
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Zoos • Parks
    Timbavati Wildlife Park image
It was really cool being able to go into the kangaroo enclosure to pet and feed the kangaroos. The parakeet experience was also really neat, being able to get so close to and feed the birds while many of them flew overhead. I would recommend purchasing the animal lunchbox to feed and interact with the animals. The admissions fee is quite high for the few animals that are there. It is quite obvious all over this park that the zoo is actually a family run business, rather than an actual accredited zoo. There are no zoologists or other employees professionally trained in animal care taking. It is a cool experience but a bit pricy for the lack of professional exhibits. See more..

This 67-year old grandma took her 9 & 11-year old granddaughters and had a blast. It was a first-time zip line experience for them and they were not disappointed. Of great importance was the safety practices the Northwoods team has implemented....we never felt any danger anxiety. The views are great, plus you get a little "hiking" and rope bridge experience too. I'm sure we will be back in the future!! See more..

Was a great stay. Beautiful golf course and the outdoor waterpark so cute! Only bad thing was the bartender Jessica knew very little on how to make drinks, kept looking at my husband and flirting. He is handsome but after 20 years of marriage we never had a he/she person hit on him, and right in front of me. We understand it’s 2022 and we’re flattered, but learn some manners. See more..

Our entire family (10 adults and 8 children) stayed 3 days and 2 nights in two of the 3 bedroom condos. We had a GREAT time, check in was a breeze! The condos had plenty of room for all of us, very clean, stocked with everything you might need and the cleaning staff was very accommodating. Alot of activities to keep all ages busy till we dropped! The other thing that really impressed me was the customer service. We accidently left a couple of things behind the Lost and Found department emailed me about the items and were welling to package the items and mailed them to us. It was a GREAT stay and made some GREAT memories. Thanks Wilderness See more..

absolutely stunning walk along the lake with ample trails in park and nearby. Nice little history about sunken ship in park area, bathrooms clean, and in various points throughout park, lush colors last week of October. Well marked trails with maps at various locations. Some of trail is rugged with tree roots (not as extensive as in cave point, county park which is adjacent), and paved, dirt and gravel trail which was not rugged at all. Through the woods in parts, it was bumpy but you could run with a dog and not break an ankle. The terrain does change in various locations. Over all, it was gorgeous. Late in October the beach area was closed. See more..

This park was amazing! You can rent the cabin for $20 a night if you are considered handicap. Doesn't have to be a wheelchair only. I use a cane and am partially impacted. Anyway, there's a beach. Trails and water falls. They will give you a map of all the waterfalls in the area. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Park is clean. And the showers too. Loved this place. There's other handicap accessible cabins at other state parks also. We went to Bailey and the took ferry to the Island. It cost to drive on or walk on. I can't wait to go again. See more..

    Mirror Lake State Park image
Mirror Lake was about 10 minutes away from our campground so we decided to spend the afternoon hiking and paddling in rented kayaks. After paying for our state park pass, we decided to go on the Ishnali Trail which went through the woods, over a bridge and through a field. The trail was wide and not too long, and went by the road to the famous Ishnali supper club (fun picture by the teepee.) Later we drove to the boat ramp where we were able to rent a double kayak for an hour. The lake doesn't allow motors so it was beautiful and easy to paddle. Even so I am glad we only rented the kayak for 1 hour! There was an outhouse there which was smelly but adequate, and down the road there is a beach for those who would like to swim. It was a fun outdoor day. See more..
  24. 4.0 Blue Harbor Resort & Conference Center Water Park (231 reviews)

There’s something magical about lounging comfortably in a bathing suit, a beverage in your hand and happy kids splashing at your feet — if the weather outside is beautiful or not. There’s no wrong season to escape to Breaker Bay, Blue Harbor’s year-round indoor waterpark in Wisconsin. It’s always a balmy 84 degrees inside this 54,000-square-foot entertainment area and waterpark. Breaker Bay’s Sheboygan waterpark offers the ideal escape for both kids and parents: It’s large enough to afford adventurous young ones a touch of independence yet small enough for parents to feel kids are safe and supervised. And with the debut of The Riptide, the only double surf simulator in eastern Wisconsin, the thrills will keep your kids coming back for more. See more..

    Governor Dodge State Park image
We made a stop in this park to see the beautiful Stephens' Waterfall, but a scenic drive through the park is a worthy goal, too! My parents took us to this park decades ago and we swam in the lake and chased the minnows. It's good to see some things haven't changed much. If you have a WI DNR patron license as I did, you can get in free with a printout of your state parks "sticker," which they will trade for an actual windshield sticker at the front gate. Otherwise it's about $8 admission for your carload. Many nice picnic areas and hiking trails, plus a concession stand by the lake. See more..

    Wildman Adventure Resort image
Dad and 3 boys, 18, 21 and 25 and we stayed at Peshtigo Cabin Pineview. We did Zip Line and Menomenee on Monday and Peshtigo on Tuesday morning. Great value! Peshtigo on single raft was my favorite, working the river for 3.5 miles and solo handling the big water; also a third less expensive than Menomenee. My next trip I am planning the Peshtigo 2-3 times on consecutive mornings and Menomenee one afternoon. The big rush on Menomenee was the same price I paid earlier in summer for flat water kayak on Rock River, so the value is incomparable, and will probably up the adventure and do the wild ride 4-man raft. Carson Park image
We drove from Rochester MN with a family of 5 to see an Express vs Rochester Honkers game. What a great place for baseball. The park was easy to get to, had lots of free parking, the tickets were inexpensive and the food and drink were down right cheap, but good. We sat in the left field bleachers. I could see the right field seats and special deck seating from our bleacher seats. I personally would avoid the right field line and outfield unless you wanted direct sunlight. See more..

  31. 5.0 Amnicon Falls State Park (180 reviews)
    - Covered Bridge is a unique feature.
    State Parks
    Amnicon Falls State Park image
First off, since everyone writes about waterfalls and nature - yes, it's stunning in this park. One of the few parks in Wisconsin with sizable waterfalls, and mature Northwoods forest around, this is a nature's gem that is a must to visit. On top of that, Covered Bridge inside the park is an attraction on its own terms. You can find books on covered bridges of such and such state. But those are mostly gone. The covered bridge in this park is one of the few left in the state of Wisconsin, if not the only one. It's in a great shape too See more..

    Boundless Adventures image
We have season passes and go frequently. We love it! By far our favorite ropes course - we are so lucky it is close to home! The staff is super helpful and encouraging. The course does tend to get super busy on weekends, but you can see the number of reservations for each time slot before you go. Keep in mind people can be on the course for three hours so be sure to look at the number of reservations for a couple of hours before/after yours. There are multiple courses for multiple abilities. I usually stick with my daughter around yellow or green, but my husband does the more challenging levels. Since all the courses are built up, everyone in your group is still right there, so you see each other frequently even if you are at different levels. TIPS: 1. buy the gloves. They are cheap enough even if you are using them only once. 2. bring water. You will be surprised how thirsty you get. 3. Bug spray. You will be in the woods, afterall. See more..

We enjoyed a day of hiking multiple trails in the park and were impressed by not only the views of the river, but the canyons that are very Jurassic in appearance. The short glacial potholes trail has beautiful views in addition to the potholes in the rocks. You can picnic in several places, including along a lake. Just be aware that the visitor's center may not be open. We were here during the week and encountered a ranger who said they didn't have the staff to keep the building open during the week, especially in October. That was the only disappointment, so next time we'll plan a visit when the center is open. See more..

Visited Petrifying Springs in Kenosha on a weekday in August and enjoyed a bike ride on the paved trail. The loop trail is about three miles long. Additionally, there is a connector trail (about two miles long) from the Beer Garden to the County Trail. The Park has numerous facilities for great family outings with many picnic areas and pavilions. The Petrifying Spring water was available at a tapping station at the parking lot across from the County Beer Garden, but there was no sign indicating that it is potable water!. I could not find the natural Petrifying Springs along the creek. The dog park at the Beer Garden appeared to be popular too. This is an amazing state park. Bathroom and shower facilities are generally clean, and most camp sites have sufficient trees and bushes to give some sense of privacy. Sites on the east side of the loop are much closer to the lake. My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. We truly felt like we got away because even cell signal was poor or nonexistent. While we saw some larger RVs, we noticed that these had trouble navigating the narrow road and pulling into their site. Concession stand in original lodge had excellent ice cream. Wyalusing State Park image
I was surprised at how much fun we had at Wyalusing State Park. We took a little day trip and just had the afternoon to spend, and hiked the sand cave trail and the bluff trail with the overlooks and treasure cave. It made us nervous in some spots to have little kids hiking along steep areas, just in a couple spots along little sand cave loop, and then with the steep climb into treasure cave. The bluff trail is an easy stroll along a path to see the lookouts. There is a parking lot right next to Point Lookout, and you can take a stroller or a wheelchair down there to see that overlook; it is definitely a view you don’t want to miss! We drove through Wisconsin Ridge campground, and the sites on the ridge are truly beautiful. There was someone sitting at their campsite, reading a book in the sunshine, taking in the view, and it looked like the quintessential perfect vacation moment. We’ll be back. See more..
