  1. 4.5 Cana Island Lighthouse (705 reviews)
    - A fun and unique outing to a lighthouse
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Lighthouses
    Cana Island Lighthouse image
Explore Door County’s most iconic lighthouse, which in 2019 celebrated 150 years of standing watch on the shore of Lake Michigan. Ride a hay-wagon over the causeway to explore the island, including the 89-foot-tall light tower, oil storage house and lighthouse keeper’s home. The highlight of any Cana Island visit is climbing the 97 steps of the tower’s spiral staircase to reach the gallery deck, which delivers a sweeping panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the Door County peninsula. 2. 4.5 Wind Point Lighthouse (310 reviews)
    - Beautiful and Relaxing

Beautiful light house on the shores of the majestic Lake Michigan. There are pretty flower gardens, picnic tables, and benches near the shore line where you can sit and relax taking in the beauty of the sail boats in the distance and the sounds of the waves hitting the huge rocks. Clean restrooms are available. The light house has tours with the opportunity to climb the tall tower (fee applies for climb) for a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Playing in the water on the small beach is permitted although there is no lifeguards. Seating near the shore is limited so I would recommend bringing a camp chair or a blanket and picnic. See more..

A state park sticker is required for entrance to Peninsula State Park. North Point Lighthouse & Museum is beautiful, memorable & historic. Our museum tells the history of lighthouses in Milwaukee as well as the maritime history of the area - extremely interesting with original artifacts & great stories. Learn about Georgia Stebbins was our longest-term keeper - quite unusual for a woman in the late 1800's & early 1900's. It's estimated she climbed the tower 63,800 times! She was amazing. Our lighthouse tower is on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and Milwaukee. It's comprised from three sections, each a component of three different lighthouses. It's truly a historic treasure. See our Web site for more information and our open hours - there is an admission fee. Docents can provide a tour of our museum, you may climb to the top of the tower for a fabulous view! Visit our Gift Shop and enjoy our beautiful grounds, set in a park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted (who designed Central Park in New York City). See more..

Spent an amazingly relaxing afternoon along the beach near WPL. The sun was warm, the wind helped keep things cool, and the sound of the crashing waves was just the ticket in providing one of the most relaxing afternoons in a long time. It was s Sunday afternoon with very few people. It was definitely not the crowded areas like around Duluth. It is definitely worth the visit. See more..

    1860 Light Station image
The visit to 1860 Light Station was a very enjoyable stop during my week-day trip to Port Washington. First I drove up the hill from downtown to the light station but I did not find any designated visitor parking spots near the light station, so I drove back down and parked on the street at the bottom of the wooden stairs, and ascended the stairs. Nice views of the surroundings, Lake Michigan, and Port Washington downtown from the stairs. The light station was closed (being open Fri, Sat, & Sun), but I walked around the light station and enjoyed reading about the history of the light station. The outdoor displays are quite informative. The light station is very well maintained, and makes for a scenic and memorable view. See more..
