We stayed in Ashland with a group just for an overnight stop and were told about the Mural walk by our hostess and given a guide by the hotel clerk. We found the walk very interesting with many of the murals depicting Ashland history. They span several blocks so it is a good way to stretch you legs after a long car or bus ride. See more..

This is an unexpected gem in a drive to a remote area. The stones are huge. There is a sign by each building or stone sculpture providing good explanations. There are also maps available to assist with the walk through the area. This is a very unique spot. It is worth the drive. See more..

The Hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. The grounds were beautiful as it sets on a small lake. Very charming! The shops @Kohler are connected to the hotel, and have a lovely walking path above the lake. The Restaurants are a bit pricey, but worth it! So if you enjoy peace & quite away from busy city life this place is for you. See more..

The Lac la Belle Historic Boat Tour was phenomenal! What a beautiful, fun way to divulge into Oconomowoc's rich history. I was born and raised in Oconomowoc and I learned so much that I never knew! The views are gorgeous and you can make what you want of it! Bring treats, drinks, a towel/suit, or a blanket--whatever suits you! I surprised my friend for her birthday and set up flowers and a charcuterie board on the boat, and we enjoyed every moment of the tour! Lou was very informative, flexible, fun and helpful! We can't wait to do more tours! See more..
  5. 2.0 Tuscobia State Trail (1 review)
    - Not a trail for walking.

    Tuscobia State Trail image
This trail is 74 miles long and runs through 4 Wisconsin counties. The trail ends are at Rice Lake, WI. and the east end at Park Falls, WI. The section we visited was near Winter, Wisconsin as we were trying to find a cabin for sale near the Rustic Lodge. We walked along the trail for a mile or so near there. I have to say, this trail caters mostly to ATVs and other off-road vehicles and in the summer is extremely dusty as it is gravel. As such, I do not advise walking this trail for the serenity and scenery. It is not quiet and not fun to walk on. Heavily traveled by noisy ATVs. Also deer hunting is allowed along the trail during deer season, so beware. See more..
