This is the starting point for all Taliesin tours. The building was designed by FLW, but didn’t live long enough to see it constructed. The staff and volunteers here are friendly and helpful. The sit-down restaurant is not currently open due to Covid (June 2022), but some grab and go food is available for purchase and you may eat in the restaurant sitting area, which overlooks Tower Hill State Park and the Wisconsin River. There are a few picnic tables outside too. The gift shop is nice. Take a few moments to shop there. Your purchases go to maintain and preserve the property. Also, spend a few moments in the restaurant seating area looking at the beautiful photographs of other FLW properties. How many have you seen in person?See more..

The owners are super friendly, and make sure you're comfortable without intrusion on your solitude. We book our next visit before we leave to secure our spot each year. The hardest part of each visit is leaving it all behind for another year.See more..

This museum is often overlooked, referred to as a Richland Tourism Center or something similar. It's also overshadowed and confused with nearby Richland County History Room - a museum just few blocks away. On the outside, for railroad buffs this museum offers restored Railroad Depot and the Milwaukee Road Caboose in very good shape. Inside there are several small but packed rooms with artifacts, photos, paintings by different artists (most importantly Halsey Rinehart) and a little Ice Age corner. But the star of the exhibit, in my opinion, are 136 species of tin life-sized bird models made by and painted by famous local artist Earl Sugden. This particular collection is not mentioned anywhere to the best of my knowledge. Check them out!See more..
5.0Henry S. Ice Age Visitor Center(2 reviews) - Beautiful Views! Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Spent 2-3 hours Visitor Centers
A beautiful center in the middle of the Kettle Moraine Northern Unit State Park. The focus of the center (besides the stunning views) is the impact of the glaciers on the surrounding landscape. There is a small interpretive section, an auditorium which shows two short films (upon request) about the glaciers, clean bathrooms, and a small gift shop. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A variety of trailheads at the center, as well as throughout the state park.See more..
