I could not believe this find. Unfortunately, it is at a Cemetery, however, it is the internment site of Les Paul. Mr. Paul grew up in Waukesha, and his grave site resides in the middle of this tiny cemetery. The granite marker surrounding the grave site is etched with all of his musical accomplishments. He is buried next to his mother, and his real last name; Lester William Polsfuss, is on his tombstone. If you are fortunate, (Tuesday or Wednesday) mornings you may just meet a famous musician who come to the grave site to pay their respects, and leave behind guitar picks. See more..

We live in the area and love taking our dog on walks to Copper Culture Park. We see a variety of wildlife every time we venture to the park, which intrigues our kids, as well as our canine family member! The museum, while small and cozy, provides some fascinating artifacts and insight into the Copper Culture people, as well as some additional historical facts about the Oconto area. The pavilion provides a great spot for a picnic lunch, with picnic tables, grills, bathrooms (flushing toilets, running water) and a water fountain. For those that want to venture in a bit more, there is a rustic path that winds along the Oconto River that provides additional intrigue as well as adds to the "nature walk" adventure. You'll want to bring your bug spray for this though!! Oconto is lucky to have Copper Culture Park - for both the history and the leisure! See more..
