    Although it was dam cold,we thoroughly enjoyed crossing the bridge while the train rushed by below us. The barge jfascinated us, a cable was used to pull it through. Talked to the friendly workers and they told us it was loaded with salt going to St Paul. Something we don't get to view from the Iowa cornfields! See more..

    - A must see area site. They have a great viewing area to see the entire operation, close up.

    They have a great viewing area to see the entire operation, close up. Nice park like setting with picnic tables. Boat landing is just next to this dam and a marina on the North end. To watch the entire operation of passing a large Mississippi barge through here, it takes nearly an hour. See more..
