Picture an 1837 general store building with animals displayed in the front window. You enter & to your left are deer, pronghorn sheep, birds & fish preservations as well as numerous arrowheads. To your right are dinosaur bones. Jim Boyd, proprietor, is in the rear of the building. If you have a bit of time, please engage this gentleman. You will not be sorry. A self-taught taxidermist, self-taught archaeologist, photographer & artist, Mr Boyd has so many interesting memories & stories to share. My husband & I found this museum on a road tripper app. While we were talking with Mr Boyd, a family came in as well as a neighbor who had never stopped in. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our visit! I recommend this small museum & its founder wholeheartedly!! See more..

I was visiting Bristol Woods County park when I came across this Nature Center. I haven't heard of it before. Inside it's a typical nature center like dozens of its siblings across Wisconsin. Still, each one is different and each one has something that others don't. I took pictures of some tropical roaches in aquarium, and also nice piece of petrified wood. See more..
