4.5Ozaukee Interurban Trail(115 reviews) - Crowded in places but even being close to urban areas there is a lot of nature Biking Trails
The best location on this trail is just north of the city of Port Washington where most of the scenery is farm land and is peaceful. There is a small park near Port Washington where there is only one table so a person can relax. The best car parking lot is in Mequon. It would be nice if it was a trail in Sheboygan County and not so many streets. There are a lot of benches so a person can sit down when walking or biking. It is a bit dangerous in Grafton because of the busy streets and they are not very well marked. In Belgum there is a nice store. There is one very nice bridge near Port Washington which goes over the freeway.See more..

4.5Great River State Trail(88 reviews) - Great Hike that included Seeing an American Bald Eagle Biking Trails
My wife, Dad, and I enjoyed a five mile hike on the Great River State Trail today. We started at Lytle's Landing and hiked north. We saw cranes, rabbits, turtles, and an American Bald Eagle. My father is 74, so a flat/no-elevation change hike works well for him, and this trail does just that. Be advised to take bug spray as the mosquitoes were quite thick even with us having applied Picaridin. A great way to spend a few hours!See more..
4.5Grant Park(70 reviews) - Lose yourself in this calm park Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
Amazing park! This place has such great views, easy to lose yourself in it. It was very busy when we went, but most people were quiet and let you enjoy the calming of the running creeks and waves near Lake Michigan. Easily a perfect spot to propose or have professional photographs done! I definitely will be coming back soon.See more..
4.5Bearskin State Trail(70 reviews) - Thursday, August 26th Bearskin, and Hiawatha trails bike ride. Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
My wife and I rode the Bearskin, and Hiawatha bike trail on Thursday, August 26th. We started from the Minocqua trailhead, and did the trail all the way to Tomahawk, then rode back to the Minocqua trailhead. We ended up with a 64 mile ride. We had planned on riding it over 2 days, but the weather changed our plans. Shortly after you start the ride in Minocqua, you cross the bridge and find the kiosk to pay the $5 fee per person for a day visit. Envelopes, and pens were at the kiosk. The ride was a lot of fun, and some beautiful scenery. A couple of hills to contend with. The crushed rock trail surface was for the most part very manageable. We enjoyed our day, and would certainly do it again.See more..
Trail was very nice . We started at Jim Falls and headed North the first day. We biked to Cornell and then headed back. Cornell has a nice state park that you can bike through but we ran out of time. Jim Falls to Cornell is 12 to 13 miles. Jim Falls to Chippewa Falls is about 12 miles but we didn't enjoy this area as much.See more..
4.5Chippewa River Trail(61 reviews) - One of the better trails in WI Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
Great for riding and many miles are paved. I believe you can go about 12 miles out of Eau Claire to the south before pavement stops. The trail extends to the north and with a short traverse on roads you will connect with the Old Abe trail that is also paved and a nice trail.See more..
I walked one evening accessing the riverwalk right by Broadway Street and then again in the afternoon of the following day by the zoo. I enjoyed both walks. Cool serene views of the water with the pleasing bubble of the river. Nice trail. Some cute bridges. A lovely gem. Plentiful benches to sit on and contemplate nature.See more..

4.0Motion to Go(38 reviews) - Best way to experience Madeline Island by far!!! Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails
My fiancée and I rented mopeds because as we were walking around La Pointe we realized that there isn’t much to do right there. So we got on the mopeds and had so much fun putting around the island to the different parks where we’d stop and get some hiking in. The drives along the edge of the island were gorgeous See more..
The 52 mile Heart of Vilas county is amazing for biking. Running through Mercer,Manitowish Waters,Boulder Junction,Sayner, and St. Germain,Wi. I discovered this place last year on a 4 day bike trip. I loved it. It is beautiful, and very well maintained. I ended coming back in September for another 4 day trip. So much of it is cutting through the woods with beautiful trees, rivers, and bridges. I was in heaven riding through this special place. I will be back for a week of biking this summer. I really believe that the Manitowish Waters bike trail is the best trail that I have ever ridden. It is stunning. Anyone who is into biking needs to ride these trails, you won't be disappointed.See more..
4.5Eisenbahn State Trail(33 reviews) - Your Choice City, Country, or Riverside Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
Unlike many trails, this one goes to places of interest. For me the stars of the trail are, Downtown West Bend, The Museum of Wisconsin Art, The Former Chicago & Northwestern Depot, The Milwaukee River, The Barton Feed mil and Waterfall, Kewaskum, & Campbelisport. I have both walked and biked the entire trail. There are shady areas to walk on hot days. I recommend the river area on hot days, In early June, you can see huge snapping turtles, some with shells larger than a dinner plate, laying eggs at the edge of the trail along the river. During Saturday mornings, in the summer, you can start or end you walk or bike ride a West Bend's huge Farmer's Market. Probably the quietest part of the trail for a nice walk is the two miles south of West Bend. Kewaskum hjas a large supermarket where you can get some food if you are biking the entire trail. The section between Barton and Kewaskum can be a bit tedious for walking as it is right along the highway. Most of the trail is paved.See more..

4.5Three Eagle Trail(23 reviews) - Three Eagle Trail out side of Eagle River to Three Lakes Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
The Three Eagle Trail is very well maintained. It is gently rolling hills, not flat. Bicycle riders can ride side by side. The trail is very well marked. The trail is 12 miles from Eagle River to Three Lakes with nice bathrooms, shelters and bike repair pumps. There are bridges, and boardwalks to ride over.See more..
4.5Sugar River State Trail(23 reviews) - 2019 Review good but be careful Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
This preview is of the status as of late July 2019. Again this is a nice trail with three easily rideable segments. The parking is best at Albany, Monticello and New Glarus. (Brodhead parking is farther away from the trail). There are large paved lots with toilets and water at each. Be aware that the trail is mostly crushed limestone with some packed down dirt or sandy areas and nothing paved. The Monticello-New Glarus segment is the best groomed and easiest to ride with clear mile markers. The Brodhead-Albany and Albany-Monticello segments are generally not as well groomed and have lots of sticks, overgrown areas and serious potholes. Albany-Monticello is the longest but the most senic with numerous bridges. On the Brodhead-Albany segment I encountered a fallen tree that I had to walk my bike around. This section has long areas of only one rideable path so you have to be very careful if you meet another rider. Also there are some serious potholes, which I watch for very close, but I still hit one that almost rattled my teeth out. Again I advise you to NOT use a road bike on this trail. I have a newer Trek trail hybrid and still blew out BOTH tires and tubes beyond repair. (see photo with red colored pens inserted in tire holes for reference). I still like this trail and generally stop by either Albany or New Glarus for lunch. Enjoy but be careful.See more..

I just rediscovered this park after moving back to the area. After the first visit I bought the annual sticker that is good for all Waukesha County parks. 4.0Wild Goose State Trail(19 reviews) - Nice running trail! Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
Scenic running trail. Peaceful. Buggy in the summer months so wear bug spray! Flat, gravel path great for cycling too.See more..
I have to admit I am not a bicyclist at all. I was driving down the highway when I suddenly spotted a covered bridge, which was odd since there are only few left around, and I thought I knew them all, but not this one. Then I realized it was on a bike trail, not a road proper. Fortunately, very near there was a "park & ride" parking lot, at the intersection of Highway 26 and County Line road that separates Rock and Jefferson counties. So I parked there and walked back less than half a mile to the covered bridge. It turned out it was not a leftover of the bygone era, but recently constructed bridge, out of the leftovers of the demolished barn nearby. Still cool!See more..
What a gem of a trail system, beginning in Boulder Junction. We biked the Manitowish Bike Trail beginning in Boulder Junction. This paved trail runs from Boulder Junction to Manitowish Waters. It is remarkably well kept up, with many rest areas along the way, or if you just want to stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We did several other routes along this trail and one just as beautiful as the next.See more..

Today we biked from Plymouth to Greenbush. Mostly uphill on the way there. There is quite an elevation. However, on the way back it was mostly downhill. Note: once you pass the gas station that will be the only restroom for the next 8 miles until you reach the end of the trail at the log cabin. The restroom is a drop toliet in the parking lot behind the log cabin. We bike this trail often, but this part of the trail was definitely the most difficult.See more..
3.5La Crosse River State Trail(14 reviews) - On a Fattie Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails Visited my parents again in LaCrosse and this time i rode the trail on my fat bike since there had been some rain in the area. I'm highly impressed with the trail system around LaCrosse even though i still wish more of it was paved. Found some new trails that take you right in to Riverside Park from County Rd B which is a great way to see some of the marshland. Also did some fattie riding on the Trails up in Hixon Forest/Upper Hixon. More great riding although I had a hard time navigating the trails on upper Hixon Forest as there were so many unmarked intersections. Sure be nice to have some maps along the trails and have local bike shops pay for the signage and use it as free advertising as well!! Hint: take a photo of the map at the trailhead with your cell phone so you have some reference. Also learned that roots and rocks can be REALLY slippery after a rain so be careful. Much different riding then the arid trails in CO and i loved how green it was.See more..

4.0Omaha Trail(12 reviews) - Great trail for an easy and enjoyable ride Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
We'd love to do this again later in the year. Midweek there was almost zero traffic, and it was shaded with gorgeous peaceful views of marsh and farms and forest and some low rock formations. We started in Elroy at The Elroy Commons where we purchased the $2 day passes, and it was a quick ride to the trail head (they have directions). It was easy riding, and my husband is only 12 days out from meniscus surgery. We only went 6 miles because we just didn't know how he would hold out, averaging 7.1 miles an hour. Then zipped back (downhill-ish) upping the average to 8.6 miles an hour. It's somewhat bumpy, but we have wider tires on our bike, and had no issues. See more..
3.5Ahnapee State Trail(12 reviews) - Very Nice Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
We rode this on our cyclocross bikes from Sturgeon Bay to Cashton and back, around 54 miles. We have ridden almost all the rail trails in Wisconsin and this is a lovely one. It is a gravel trail and not suitable for road bikes. The trail was a bit weedy in places but easily traversed and the countryside was beautiful. The only reason I give this trail 4 stars instead of 5 is that the trail markers are small and somewhat confusing. We wound up lost in Algoma at one point because we couldn't figure out where the trail went. A map is highly advisable, as is careful attention to trail signs.See more..

5.0CamRock Trail(11 reviews) - Excellent trail system for all types of outdoor enthusiasts! Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails
CamRock trails is a local gem in Dane County for outdoor activities. There are 3 trailheads/parking lots to choose from. Look for access to your favorite section of trails! The mountain biking trails are some of the best maintained in Dane County. Hikers and bikers share many of the trails which can also double as snowshoeing and XC ski trails in winter. A lovely creek passes thru the park which adds to the quiet scenic nature of the area. In winter trailhead 3 serves as a fun sledding hill for families.See more..
4.0McGilvray Seven Bridges Road(10 reviews) - Nice Hike in the Woods Points of Interest & Landmarks • Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
The bridges along the trail are all well labeled. There are benches near the middle two bridges and at the end where bridge 7 once stood. How ever far one hikes in, the hike is the same out because this is a one-way in, same way out trail. The trail does narrow and have more uneven ground the further in one goes. See more..
This hard packed trail is perfectly maintained and there are few bikers or walkers. We rode the 15 miles one way, and returned, for a total of 30 miles, and never saw more than 12 riders/walkers. The trail head is in downtown Denmark at a nicely restored train depot. The trail is tree lined most of the entire 15 miles with some open farmland. There are several nice bridges over streams and plenty of benches for an occasional stop and rest. If you are not sure where to go for a bike ride that is not a day's drive away, head to Denmark. You won't be disappointed.See more..

3.5Mascoutin Valley State Park Trail(6 reviews) - Mascoutin Valley State Trail Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Equestrian Trails • Hiking Trails
Separated in two sections this is a pretty long ride if you do it out and back both sections. I rode Fond Du Lac west to Rosendale first. Kind of a desolate ride through the Eldorado Marsh. Well maintained trail surface for the most part. There is parking on Rolling Meadows Road, but there is no water or facilities on the trail. The west section I rode from Berlin to Ripon and back. There are some slight hills in this section, but not steep hills just grades to ride. Parking is street parking in Berlin. There also is no facilities on this section so carry plenty of water.See more..

4.5Kettle Moraine State Forest(3 reviews) - A Wonderful Ride Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
It's been years since we've gone to Kettle Moraine for hiking. When I found out about the Lake to Lake Trail, I decided we needed to give it a try on our bikes. What a wonderful way to see nature on a beautiful fall day! The trail is made of white pea gravel and follows the contours of the land. Sometimes you get to coast downhill; other times you need to work a little harder going up. However, even the uphill climbs are not difficult. We rode from the parking lot at Mauthe Lake and followed the well-marked trail to the cemetery at Dundee. The very clean mini-mart across the road is a good place to stop for snacks if you need "fuel." Dundee is where we turned around rather than continuing a couple more miles to Long Lake. In all, we did approximately 9 miles and saw a snake, pheasant, and hawk. Milkweed pods were opening up in the warmth of the sun and I just had to stop to set some seeds free in the wind.See more..

4.0Pine Line Trail(1 review) - Pine Line Trail Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
I rode Pine Line from Medford to Westboro and back. Trail surface as you go north gets more and coarser gravel. Starts at rice crispy size and works up to raisin sized, you will get some rolling resistance, but not the worst, I ride 32mm tires and wouldn't go much smaller. Bridge transitions are fine, and no bumps to speak of. Trail has long non shaded stretches, so sun on hot days could be an issue, as could wind in N-S directions. Mostly flat, a few minor grade climbs and road crossings. I did see one ATV on the trail, but they are not supposed to be on it from March - December. There is only one park on trail just north of Medford, so bring your own drinks and snacks to be self sufficient. There are bars in the small towns, but I didn't visit. This trail is pretty out there, you want solitude and nature, this one has it. I would imagine later in the season bug spray would be a must. I did not ride from Westboro north at this time.See more..
