4.5Milwaukee County Zoo(1.733 reviews) - Fun family Zoo! Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Zoos
So much fun! We went as a family (2 boys 10 & 13 also). We all loved it. Note: I did not see any place to get tickets inside and since we were traveling from Chicago, we did buy tickets and parking ($15) in advance. Get there before the 0930 open time, the cars were lined up outside. The indoor exhibits were open - but masks were required inside there and the gift shops. There is a lot of walking. Not sure if you can "rent" a stroller or wheelchair. A lot of areas were accessible outside, but some of the indoor buildings had smaller spaces. Since my kids are older, we were done in 2.5 hours (we did not do any of the ziplining, tram tour or train ride). We did do the Sky Safari, but the notice said they would close it after Labor Day.See more..

Literally the best experience to have in Wisconsin. Do yourself a favor and plan to stop here no matter what age you are. I am approaching thirty and found this to be one of my favorite Dells attractions on a recent visit. Who wouldn’t want to get up close and feed an obnoxious number of deer? Also, who knew there were so many different types of deer? The deer here want to come say hello in the most personal of ways – eating the crackers you hold in your hand. Purchase some food when you enter, it literally brings the deer to you in swarms. Once you feed them, they start to follow you too. Hands down a favorite experience in the Dells.See more..
4.0Timbavati Wildlife Park(1.100 reviews) - Cool place to interact with animals but a bit pricy for the experience offered here Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Zoos • Parks
It was really cool being able to go into the kangaroo enclosure to pet and feed the kangaroos. The parakeet experience was also really neat, being able to get so close to and feed the birds while many of them flew overhead. I would recommend purchasing the animal lunchbox to feed and interact with the animals. The admissions fee is quite high for the few animals that are there. It is quite obvious all over this park that the zoo is actually a family run business, rather than an actual accredited zoo. There are no zoologists or other employees professionally trained in animal care taking. It is a cool experience but a bit pricy for the lack of professional exhibits.See more..

4.5Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue(170 reviews) - Owners who truly care Wednesday: Spent 1-2 hours Zoos • Educational sites
This is a non-profit organization. Is listed as a zoo, but it is more educational. They rescue Lions, Tigers, and Leopards. They have night tours, and morning feeding tours. You can buy a meal [a chicken] which they will feed to one of the big cats. When that 4-wheeler comes by, all the big cats are at attention. It really is a great experience. BarbSee more..
4.5Wildwood Zoo(157 reviews) - Small but charming! Wednesday: 6:00 AM - 10:30 PM Spent 2-3 hours Zoos
I went on a whim. I saw two bald Eagles, two Bobcats, two Kodiak Bears and three Gray Wolves, plus many other smaller animals. The zoo is small and it wouldn't take much time to walk around, but it is free (there are places to leave a donation) and the exhibits are well-maintained and the animals look spry and interested in the world around them. There is a city park encircling two thirds of the property and the UW Steven Point arboretum backs up the rest of the property and there is a small area showing what urban forestry is. Definitely worth a visit. See more..
I understand that places like this are important in introducing animals to people as people will protect what they love. But some of the animals shouldn't be there. The wolves and the cougar never stopped either continuous running on the wolves part to repetitive pacing by the cougar. They had fox kits and coyote pups and when I asked where they went when they got older, all the answers were very evasive. They state they are not a rehab facility so I had to wonder what happened to the nursery animals when they grew up. The children enjoyed I saw enjoyed it very much but I couldn't go back. I stood at the wolf enclosure and cried.See more..

We enjoyed this park immensely. there were no wolves at this time. We saw a bear, several big cats, hawks, an eagle, bison..... "local" wildlife, rather than worldwide. It didn't charge admission and the staff was helpful and friendly. I like to take photos and it was hard with all that mesh fencing, but of course fencing is very necessary. The prairie dogs would have been nice to see but they were all hiding.See more..

It's right outside of Appleton, so I would consider it in attractions near there. The list it on their city tourism site, as well. This was surprisingly big and a great value.See more..
The Butterfly Gardens is a wonderful place spend some time in nature with butterflies and learn a lot from the excellent staff. A highlight is the butterfly house where the butterflies are free and interact with the visitors among the flowers. The grounds are very well kept and you can spend time walking through the path. Very nice people doing wonderful work for Butterflies. Great for all ages.See more..

4.0Animal Haven Zoo(42 reviews) - Consider the source when reading bad reviews! Zoos
We absolutely love this zoo! What needs to be understood about this zoo is that it is 100% donation funded and the owners care very much for their animals. They take old animals or animals with no where to go. They do and have done their very best they can to give these animals great homes. They are also staffed by volunteers. We saw volunteers everywhere and saw fresh fruits and full water bowls in all cages. The owners are there and accessible at all times. This is a hidden gem and we cannot wait to visit again! We had so much fun!See more..
Bear Den Zoo and petting farm is a family owned and operated zoo for over 30 years. You can get up close to some amazing exotic animals as well as local wildlife and farm favorites. We have several petting areas where you can enjoy personal time with a variety of animals. Depending on the season, we have kittens, bunnies, chicks, ducklings, goats, ringtail lemur, fawns and calf’s. Our petting areas change throughout the year so we don’t always have the same babies. Take a hayride through the woods and out to our pumpkin patch in the fall. Our season starts in May on mother’s day weekend and ends October 31. Admission includes entrance to the zoo, all petting areas and a hayride through the woods ( weather permitting)See more..
This zoo is a great experience for young kids under 10. It's much more relaxed than a typical zoo and features a small mix of animals. There is a petting zoo house where kids can feed goats, sheep, llama, and a cow. There is a zebra, ostrich, coati, artic fox, and geese, among other animals. Little ones can easily walk the grounds. This is a donation based location - so no fee for entry. The flowers are lovely to look at and there are nice restroom facilities. Right outside the zoo entrance, there is a park for kids with slides and swings. Parking is plentiful and free. We spent about 90 minutes looking at the exhibits and feeding the animals. The kids (ages 5 and 9) had a really great time and enjoyed it. If you're looking for something fun to do in Wisconsin Rapids, but don't have time for an "all day activity," this zoo should be on your list.See more..

4.0Jo-Don Farms(25 reviews) - Fun for the family Spent 1-2 hours Zoos
This farm has lots of unique animals and we loved the baby lambs! Better than the zoo. You can get closer to the animals. Some you can even pet. We pet a zebra! Watch out for the tiger if it is mating season. He will spray you! Fun place for the family and inexpensive.See more..
3.5Bruemmer Park and Zoo(12 reviews) - Great Playground with Fun Animals for the Kids Spent 1-2 hours Zoos
My kids enjoy this park which is just outside of Kewaunee. It has a great playground to play on with picnic tables and a bathroom. There are also shelters available to rent. When we went yesterday we were excited to see two new goats and a new enclosure for them. Bring quarters as there is a corn machine to feed them. There was also a nice new enclosure for the two artic foxes. There is also a sheep, deer, bobcat, racoon, and various birds. A memorial garden with a sandbox is near the animals. It's a nice little park.See more..
4.0Concord Zoo(1 review) - Small but charming zoo Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Zoos
Open year round 9 to 5. The gate is locked after hours. This small zoo has livestock, mini horses, alpacas, sheep, goats, rabbits, and a beautiful peacock that roams the grounds. Located behind the Concord Mobile Gas Station & General Store. They ask that you not bring food in since they can’t control what is being fed to their animals however, feed cones and carrots are available to purchase inside the store. You can walk right up to their enclosures and they will run over for attention but mostly to be fed. There’s no staff inside the zoo but you can tell that the animals are well taken care of. No admission fee but accepts donations. Although it’s very small it’s worth a visit if you are in the area. The general store/ gas station is pretty cool too.See more..
4.0Animal Gardens(1 review) - Cool zoo - between Delavan and Lake Geneva Zoos
This is a cool zoo; generally intended for kids right on route 50 between Lake Geneva and Delavan. There are 4 sections, of sorts. There's a "baby animal" barn that has young or small animals - there are interns to talk about them. There's an outdoor area with goats, cavies, donkeys, and others - where you can feed them. There's an open area with enclosures for wolves, porcupines, horses, a giant tortoise, and others. Finally, there's a train ride that takes about 30 minutes that goes through the woods to see bobcats, foxes, and deer (you can feed the deer). All-in-all - great way to spend 90 minutes if you like animals.See more..
