Fun family Zoo!

So much fun! We went as a family (2 boys 10 & 13 also). We all loved it. Note: I did not see any place to get tickets inside and since we were traveling from Chicago, we did buy tickets and parking ($15) in advance. Get there before the 0930 open time, the cars were lined up outside. The indoor exhibits were open - but masks were required inside there and the gift shops. There is a lot of walking. Not sure if you can "rent" a stroller or wheelchair. A lot of areas were accessible outside, but some of the indoor buildings had smaller spaces. Since my kids are older, we were done in 2.5 hours (we did not do any of the ziplining, tram tour or train ride). We did do the Sky Safari, but the notice said they would close it after Labor Day.

Okay to visit once, but definitely not the greatest zoo
The zoo is large , with a decent variety of exhibits. With that said, it seemed that many of the enclosures were small for the animals. Many of the animals were not active whatsoever, and several enclosures/buildings were closed. Surprisingly, one of the better exhibits was the bats. I hate that they charge $15 parking in addition to the ticket price. I mean, don't you have to park a car if you're coming to the zoo? I think charging for parking puts people in the wrong mood when they get there; just build it in to the ticket price. I also didn't like that once inside, there were several exhibits that cost extra money, but it wasn't just a dollar or two, it was like $8. I wouldn't return, but it was fine to visit once.

    Good smaller zoo with elephants
Last week we went to Jellystone Caledonia campground and stopped at the Milwaukee County Zoo after checking out on Thursday afternoon. The Milwaukee Zoo was great. (It was Half off with our Shedd Aquarium membership). They have elephants, giraffe feeding, a train, a zipline course, sky tram thing, and plenty of animals. It was hot on Thursday, but started to rain some which helped cool everything including the animals off a little bit. It was nice after the rain, but since it was close to closing time a lot of things closed early. We need to come back again and spend more time here.
