We stopped here to take a look at options for our bathroom remodel. There are so many different options! I'd love to put the spa room in our house. There is a Kohler museum on the lower floor that I would recommend. See more..
  2. 4.5 Carr Valley Cheese Factory (114 reviews)
    - Great cheese in a beautiful location.

We had a lovely visit to Carr valley cheese. It was fun to watch the cheese makers in the window. (Make sure to get there early, by 8:30ish, or you will miss it). The manager was so friendly and informative. The cheese was fantastic, and the company buys milk from many small family farms instead of some of the big companies that only buy from corporate farms. It was great! See more..
  3. 5.0 Dairy State Cheese Factory (107 reviews)

We moved to the area a couple years ago and a few people had suggested we check out this place for the fresh cheese curds. I'm not sure why we waited so long, but I think it's because we weren't expecting much. Well, let me tell you...we love going here not just for the cheese or to watch the cheese curds being made through big windows or the viewing area upstairs, but mostly for for the amazing and CHEAP ice cream they have in the side room!! Quality ice cream from another WI company, about 20 flavors that are constantly rotating, and prices that rival a cheap cone at McDonalds but is sooooo much better! See more..

We arrived at the factory in Menomonee Falls and were just going to go to the gift shop, a lady that works there greeeted us and asked if we were there for the free tour or the paid tour we said just the gift shop, she said well if you've got 30 minutes we can do a free tour of the factory so we did and it was great. (the paid tour is a little longer and you get a hat and tee shirt for the price so either is good. we saw engines and transmissions being assembled ALL the staff were fantastic and I recommend doing the tour. Tours are 1000AM Monday thru Friday. 1100AM on Saturday. We highly recommend the tour to learn about the high standards and pride taken to make Roth Cheese. Tony was informative about the history of cheese making and how to obtain the highest quality of cheese. He explains the chemistry involved to the few ingredients. Milk is from local grassfed cows without hormones. In the store, you will find ample amount of samples of cheese from Roth and other companies. On Saturdays, there are samples of wine. See more..
  6. 4.0 Trek Bicycle Factory Tour (15 reviews)
    - Much better than the other reviewers lead me to believe
    Factory Tours
    Trek Bicycle Factory Tour image
Definitely worth the trip for anyone who is into cycling. You get to see A LOT of bikes. The atrium is a bit of a Trek History museum and then there are literally bikes all over the building - both newly built and employee bikes. The tour starts in the atrium and then you get a look at the employee commuter storage room. Then you get a look at some of the research and design areas, paint booths, decal application, shipment packaging, etc. Obviously there are some proprietary areas that they aren't going to show on the tour, so if you're planning to get a sneak peak at the latest prototypes, be prepared to be disappointed. 7. 5.0 Destination Kohler (1 review)
    - Amazing insight into the manufacturing at Kohler

This 3-hour tour is amazing. Led by Kohler retirees who know the people on the factory floor give you an insiders view of the three major operations at the Kohler plant. You will see the making of toilets, faucets, and cast iron bathtubs. Plus you will see the artists in residence working to create magnificent works from their experiences and interactions with the factory workers. You might get to see cast iron being poured, tubs being enameled, or toilets baked and painted. The tour starts and ends at the Design Center which has a great museum in the basement and product showroom upstairs. One of the best factory tours out there. See more..
