The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe will forever be a spiritual destination for visitors from all over the world. The Shrine is nestled on over 100 acres of God’s Country in the Mississippi River Valley. 4.5Washington Island Stavkirke(252 reviews) - A Quiet Place Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Churches & Cathedrals
There are no words to describe the feeling this church creates in one's being. It's used as a meditation center and for special occasions(weddings, etc.) by local and visitors alike. Built totally by hand, as a tribute to God and the builder's Scandinavian Heritage, it is a masterpiece of construction and purpose. Since my first visit, the place is never far from my thoughts and it draws me back time and time again. Stop here and soothe your soul.See more..
4.5Mary of the Angels Chapel(18 reviews) - One of my favorite large churches Wednesday: Churches & Cathedrals
Fascinating, gorgeous architecture inside and out. Unique. Interesting history. I'm a fan of church architecture, and surely this is the most beautiful and interesting example between St. Paul and Chicago. The interior has a soft, luscious look and feel that makes more modern churches (incl the nearby Shrine) look like an insurance company lobby. Occasionally the sisters host a concert in the Chapel, which is an opportunity not to be missed!See more..
Father Jim is an awesome homilist. His message is always relatable. Get there early for a seat, but if you are running a little behind, the ushers are helpful. See more..

5.0Paul and Matilda Wegner Grotto a.k.a Glass Church(5 reviews) - Worth your time to stop Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
This beautiful grotto is right off the main road. It is made of love by one couple. Easy parking, free, and easy walk through the artwork. Make sure to go in the church too. I loved looking at the fences also. The glass is magical when the sun shines on it. This is a now a county park. There is a port a potie across the road, and it was incredibly clean when we visited. The cemetery where they, and other family members are buried is just down the road . It is worth a visit to see the gravestones decorated in glass. A peaceful little cemetery. Worth 1/2 hour of your time.See more..

5.0St. Norbert's Church(3 reviews) - Unknown to many a treasure in WI Churches & Cathedrals The altar-picture is magnificent. You feel like in Bavaria- One just question why the oldest Catholic Church from WI is not a Basilica yet????See more..
A parishioner collected nativity sets until she had so many, she couldn’t keep them any more so she donated them to the church. There are well over a thousand sets from all over the world. Some are quite rare (like a ivory nativity from before ivory collection was made illegal). Others are very tiny and there are even life size nativities. The collection is strikingly beautiful. Completed in 2015 this charming Devotional Chapel and Rosary Prayer Garden is open year round and free to all religions. It was built by retired Catholic Priest Father Bill O'Brien on rural property of his great grandparents. In fact, the cross inside the stone chapel was carved from their old homestead. The Chapel and grounds are located five miles east of Denmark, WI in the small town of Curran, WI. There are chair for rest and reflection both inside and outside the chapel. There is a portable bathroom on the property as well. As of yet, there is no sign advertising the chapel. It is located just west of Curran, WI on the north side County Road KB. Look for a tan painted fence. There is no admission cost but donations are gladly accepted. Hours may vary during inclement winter weather. Come enjoy a very peaceful place in the Wisconsin countryside. About two miles from the Carmelite Monastery.See more..

My wife and I were passing through Stoddard on a bicycle trip and the timing worked out perfectly for us to visit the Stoddard United Methodist Church. Their new building is great, the congregation is friendly, and Pastor Kayabuntu's message was one of the most animated and inspirational we have ever heard in a Methodist church. If you are in the neighborhood on a Sunday be sure to check it out, you won't be sorry!See more..
3.0Bethel Baptist Church(1 review) - Sunday visit Spent 1-2 hours Churches & Cathedrals I thought I'd visit this church as it's relatively close to my new home. I knew generally what to expect, having been raised mostly Baptist. I was disappointed to note that the Pastor read Scripture from the King James Version of the Bible. Had I not had my NIV in front of me I really would've had trouble understanding it. I had to wonder how another person off the street would get a long with that or maybe a teenager? The Pastor tended to yell even though he was wearing a mic and did seem to be upset at the first hymn announced, walking up the main isle and yelling his change to a song no one was familiar with. The people were friendly, but I won't be attending this church.See more..
4.0St. Louis Catholic Church(1 review) - Beautiful old historic church Spent < 1 hour Churches & Cathedrals

Pastor Paul does a wonderful service with a bit of humor, which is always nice. They have a children's time, open communion to anyone who wants a closer relationship with God. This church offers wonderful activities for children and youth, with very loving and caring teachers, youth leaders and a full time Christen Ed Director who keeps it all going. The music is wonderful, they did not have a praise band the last time I was there, but still 2 very nice services. They also offer a coffee/juice time with snacks for anyone in between services, a little social time, which was very nice and welcoming.See more..
