A Genuine Northwoods Business

We have a lovely lightweight canoe with wooden gunwales. When the stern seat became detached from the gunwale due rotting wood we turned to Bobby and Warren for their expertise with wood. They replaced the bad section of the gunwale with a new piece of ash (which they had on hand) and reattached the seat in just a couple days! The repair was beautiful. They are two colorful characters, real authentic Northwoods.

    Fishing Boat Rentals
We rent a fishing boat from here every year. Good guys, fair prices, their boats will get you out on the water so you can catch some fish.

No-Frills Canoe, Kayak, or Small Fishing Boat Rental
I recently rented a small fishing boat with outboard motor, trailer, and life vests for a last-minute weekend trip to Boulder Jct for some fishing. The boat, motor, and trailer all worked well. The check out and check in process went smoothly. This place is run by two brothers Robert and Warren Schauss. They have a small woodwork shop--they make all of the wooden white arrow signs you see on the ends of all of the roads--and also rent out canoes, kayaks, and small fishing boats by the day or week. We first rented from them in August 2017 for a day canoe/kayak trip. We were able to rent a canoe, two kayaks, and all of the oars, cushions, and life vests. They also dropped everything off at the start of our trip, helped us stage our car, and picked up everything at the end. All of their boats and equipment are older and well-used, but it is all in workable shape. This is totally a "no-frills" rental outfit. The rental rates are reasonable and the Schauss brothers are pretty helpful. They only accept cash and checks--no plastic of any kind. We would definitely rent from them again.
