Kayak time

KWA is top notch! Shaun takes pride in his business and great customer service. We have been going there since he opened and would not think of going anywhere else now. Very nice and always clean canoes and kayaks. Back rests are on all canoe seats to make for a more comfortable trip down the beautiful Kickapoo. Don't forget to grab an onion sack before leaving or at any of the bridges to collect any litter along the way. Go with Kickapoo Wild Adventures and you won't be disappointed!

Friendly service, great equipment, wonderful experience!
My husband and I wanted to canoe the Kickapoo, so I made a reservation online at KWA the morning of our trip. (I recommend that you call or make an reservation online much earlier than this - normally, business is brisk and we might have been out of luck because I waited too long). We got to KWA at about 9:00 and Shaun had just been calling my cell phone to verify my reservation! Shaun talked us through the river route and how to identify the landings; he then gave us his cell number so we could just call or text when we were done. This was MUCH better than having a pre-arranged pickup time and location, as we had no idea how fast we would travel or how long we would want to be out. We got in our canoe with those lovely back rests, and we were off! Because KWA is located further upriver than the places in Ontario, you end up having a good chunk of the river to yourself, which is great. There were a fair number of people on the river past Ontario including families, couples, Amish teenagers, and nudists! A few groups were having parties on the sandbars. We took advantage of a sandbar as well so we could get out, stretch, and wade in the cool water. The scenery on the river is beautiful, with rock formations and lots of birds and flowers. We made it to the state park landing in about three hours, texted Shaun, and less than ten minutes later, a friendly young man had come to pick us up. I would highly recommend KWA for your excursion down the Kickapoo!

River scenery was awesome. KWA was great.
this was our first time in the Kickapoo River Valley. KWA hooked us up with one kayak and one canoe. rental went great and they picked us up at the last bridge in less than 10 minutes. very helpful tips on some other local things to do (hiking in Wildcat Mountain Park and biking on the Elroy-Sparta trail) and places to eat.
