We brought our whole family on the Raft and Reel program and we all had a blast. We had 4 rather young kids on the trip (ages 10-5) and the guides were absolutely fantastic with them. They challenged us to go beyond out comfort level but at the same time made us feel safe and secure the whole time. We learned a lot both on and off the water. Back at camp the food was fantastic and always plentiful. Staff we courteous and really fun. There was more athletic equipment available to use then we had time to experience. We will definitely be back, we would love to do the Raft and Reel again on the sportyaks...can not recommend those more whole heartedly, but we will stay longer if we can. There is tons to do on the compound and we would love to spend more time on the court and in the water. Thanks again to the whole staff and everyone who made our vacation so memorable. Had a terrific 4 day canoe trip into the interior of Algonquin - to Thom THompson Lake. We found the excursion to be just right, challenging but not overwhelming. Beautiful scenery and spotted a moose and some beaver. Our guide, Jordan, was great - informative, interesting, and a great cook, he even played the guitar for us! All in all I highly recommend this trip for all those who enjoy nature and the great outdoors.See more..
Our kayaking trip was great. Booking is easy from the friendly team. The kayaks are stable models with waterproof stowage compartments. Capsizing is apparently rare. We were issued with a life vest, map and a bailing pump. If you are relatively new to kayaking, book for a half-day (3 hours), but consider the full day if you want to go further or take a picnic to one of the national park islands. The full day is only around ten dollars more. The company will look after your car keys while you are afloat. You may land on the islands belonging to the National Parks but not the other (private) islands. The main channel between the marina and (for example) MacDonald Island can be interesting to cross when used by high speed motorboats and jet skis. The company takes its role responsibly. After we finished our rental, its staff set out to collect someone who had capsized but had lost her nerve. A great family expedition among really interesting islands.See more..

This was a wonderful experience for our family. Three generations ranging from 75 to 14 years old. Granny was towed by 17 year old grandson paddling as if she was not along! Extremely well organized and every care taken. Well equipped. Friendly cheerful staff. Inexpensive. After safety explanations, we were issued life vests then boarded a school bus to transport us to starting point. Here we were each supplied with paddles and our own little boat. The meals were fabulous along with the setting of the center. We stayed in one of the cabanas, which was cozy, dry, and clean. I loved the construction of the cabana with a roof with clear panels to let in the light but keep out the rain and the open air feel because of the walls with screens like a porch. The bed and furnishings were simple but just what we needed after five hard days of paddling in the whitewater canoe course. Our class had 13 students and two instructors who worked well together. They were also both bilingual so that both French and English speaking students could received instructions. The gear was great and the recommendations for paddling gear were just right. We had rain every day and some of it was heavy so having the right clothing and paddling gear was important to stay warm in the middle of June. There were lots of mosquitos and blackflies but either they weren't hungry or we weren't too tasty as they didn't seem to be biting.See more..
Booked the Tobermory Wave a few days before we visited Tobermory and as it turns out, we were so glad we did. It’s a smaller vessel compared to their completion and that allows for a totally different tour. The guide was very pleasant and accommodating. He was very knowledgeable about the area. The captain/owner did a fantastic job of getting us in close on all the stops along the tour allowing for the best photos possible. The boat has padded seats too! I highly recommend this tour if you want to see flowerpot island, the grotto and all the really spectacular rock and cave formations along the shores of Georgian Bay.See more..
I have only been on a few rivers in my life but the ones i have been on and either rafted, canoed or tubed down the rental staff knew all about the river and could give great information. Where to get off, what to see, what to do, what not too miss. The 3 teenagers that checked us in did not know a whole lot about the river past the first couple of bridges. overall the experience was okay but come on fellas, get in the kayak or canoe and take a trip past the first few bridges. These should be basic questions. We told them where we had parked our vehicle and they had never heard of it. It was a river access point. on their river, how could they not have heard of it? why 3 stars? the river was great and we had a great day on it and will do it again and will probably use this group again because they are convient, but not knowledgeable of the river.See more..
We booked a 4-day all-inclusive canoe trip with Algonquin Outfitters. From the initial communication online to the return of all our gear at the end of the trip, the staff was friendly, highly competent and attentive. We were 2 parents with three kids (18, 15, 8) and all relatively inexperienced in canoeing. The AO staff explained everything, from portaging techniques to how to effectively pack the backpacks. Equally important, we had an ample amount of food, which was organized on a per meal, per day basis. When we return to Algonquin Provincial Park, we will definitely book again with AO.See more..
Our party used Algonquin Outfitters for our canoe requirements. The booking process online had a mysterious fee. I sent an email to them and it was a booking fee that the third party online booker charges for that convenience. I suggest contacting Algonquin Outfitters directly to book your equipment as it is a pleasant experience and you save the booking fee. Great gear, clean, check in and out was efficient. Returning the gear was seamless (maybe putting the steps on a sign outside might help, but not needed). Friendly faces greeted us at the start and at the end of our paddle.See more..

We booked this tour in March 2021 with Anne-Marie, 4 of us (2 couples) This is the best way to discover the Rideau canal, in kayak. The Rideau canal is not only for the big boats. There is a way to discover it at your own pace without meeting to many motor boats Paddling between the Upper Brewer lock and Newboro lock with a very nice and cosy chalet for 3 nights at Chaffeys Lock. (50 km total) Everything was perfect. Anne-Marie's attention to details is phenomenal. She is fluent in both French and English. This is a very well kept campground and looks as though it is very busy in the summer. It is right on the river and at the mill dam. This is a place worth stopping at for an overnight or longer. They accommodated our 43 foot fifth wheel no problem. Services were excellent and our stay was quite and memorable. Nothing bad to say about this place and it is satellite and Starlink friendly. Washrooms looked clean and well maintained. Beautiful area near Alliston or as they now call it New Tecumseh.See more..

Very safe and accessible course! Can’t recommend enough! I took the intro to whitewater kayaking course (two day) and my whole group agreed it was the best thing we’d done all summer! I went to the course by myself but my group had a mother-daughter duo, two teenagers, and another solo person. Everyone had an incredible time! This really is something that just about anyone can do or try! I had zero experience going in and was half expecting we’d spend the first day mostly talking but I was wrong! We jumped into the water almost immediately and the instructors did a fantastic job of building up our skills and comfort levels while always prioritizing the safety of the group. I started this journey by booking a 5 day RAP trip. Unfortunately there were not enough people for this to happen. After talking to Robin he was able to set me up with the 3 day trip on Feb 13th. We all met in the parking lot. The snowmobile I rented showed up on time. I was very impressed on the quality of the snowmobile and it was a perfect fit for me. We left our luggage for it to be brought to the lodge and within a hour of arrival we were on the trails. Scenery was unreal. We went out each day and every day was perfect. Each night we went back to the lodge to relax. No wifi was perfect and we all did the old fashion thing talked to each other. That was refreshing. It was a laidback back experience. We were fed breakfast and dinner. The meals were not fancy just good food and plenty of it. I would like to thank Robin for experience that allows a person shut down and enjoy nature and people. Thank you Tim for an awesome SUP lesson and tour through the Nottawasaga River! Booking the SUP tour and lesson was easy, and we felt safe paddling. All of the equipment was provided and in great condition. Tim was a patient instructor and knowledgeable of the local area/river. We saw herons, kingfishers and lots of other waterfowl. Genny and George are great hosts and guides and run a family oriented kayak, stand up paddle boards and canoe rental place on the South Branch of the Rideau River in Kemptville just off Hwy 416. If you are a beginner, this is a great and safe place to start. If you are an experienced kayaker, you can challenge yourself to paddle all the way up to the Rideau River and beyond. Wildlife is plentiful and I have seen my share of herons, turtles, otters and even a beaver. Motorized boat traffic is low to non existent most of the time. They also have Paddle Fit classes and organized trips. After paddling, I usually drop by Brewed Awakenings for a Chai Latte. I find an hour paddling is very relaxing and therapeutic.See more..

Great place for ice fishing. Close to Toronto. Minutes off from the 404. My son had a great time. If you have an SUV with winter tires equipped you can drive onto the lake yourself or they have snowmobiles to take your party over to the huts. My wife and I went to Mad Rivers beautiful new location in Calabogie right on the Madawaska River. The staff (Kevin, Sherri, Tana) were very helpful and outfitted us and others with kayaks and helped us get in and sent us off. We had a nice trip on the lake and into Grassy Bay. They have a big selection of kayaks and SUPs to rent and for sale and snacks, drinks and merchandise inside their cabin. They have ebikes too which looked like a lot of fun on the trail system up there. The K&P rail trail is about 100 metres away. Great service, fun and adventure. I highly recommend trying this out.See more..
