The whole experience was wonderful! As soon as you arrive, you are made welcome by the whole team. Our very experienced pilot, Bill was very reassuring (my first helicopter flight) and explained everything. Such a nice person! We flew over the 1000 islands which were amazing! I could have stayed up there all day! Simply fantastic would recommend without the blink of an eye See more..

Girlfriend booked the flight as a surprise while we rented a cottage in the area. Booked a flight to JW Marriott for lunch. Check in was easy. Pilot was Jonathan and he was great. Girlfriend was a bit scared at first but loved the views. Jon was great all the way through. Really enjoyed the experience of landing and taking off from the lake. Would recommend. See more..

My son bought me a half hour scenic half hour flight for my Birthday. The pilot Jeff was very competent easy to talk to. The day was sunny and windy which mad the flight a bit bumpy. The view of Collingwood and the Escarpment in her fall colours was amazing. It was interesting to see all the shoals out on Georgian Bay. My only complaint if you will, Was the 10 minutes of aircraft check out gave us 15 minutes in the air. But my wife and I really enjoyed the flight. Next time ill go for an hour. See more..

If you've ever wanted to try gliding, then you must go to the Toronto Soaring Club which is about halfway between Shelburne and Mount Forest along highway 89. You can drive there, or fly into the club. Contact anyone on the club's website to find out which day is best for flying, the club operates on weekends mostly but in the summer you may find folks flying during the weekday. There are 2 two-seat planes for rides and introductory flights. The youngest we'd recommend is about 6 years old, so that they can be secured with seat belts and so that they can see out of the cockpit. Guest flights last for about 30 minutes, instructional flights sometimes pass the one hour mark. There is a club house with washroom facilities. As it is an active airfield, caution must be used at all times. There are specific smoking areas, pets should be secured as well. Bring a hat, water, and comfy clothes. After a tow behind a powered plane up to 2000', the glider pilot will release the rope and will search for rising currents of air to gain altitude for your flight. In some rare cases, you can climb up to 6000', which will allow you to see Georgian Bay on a clear day, fly over the Luther Marsh, fly west to Mount Forest or east to Shelburne and the Escarpment. There is a fee for the flight, somewhere around $100, but it's well worth it. If you hang around long enough, you can help put the planes away and enjoy a 'cold one' with the pilots. Lots of photo and video opportunities, and definitely a bucket list item!! See more..
