  2. 4.0 Kensington Market (2.963 reviews)
    - An often forgotten about Gem
    Spent 2-3 hours Neighborhoods
    Kensington Market image
Immerse yourself in the heart of Toronto’s bohemian culture at Kensington Market. Restaurants and hole-in-the-wall eateries offering food from all over the world are interspersed with vintage thrift shops, coffee joints, tattoo parlors, bars, art galleries, and Victorian-style houses. The area is part gritty, part chaotic but it has tons of personality. The best time to visit is on Pedestrian Sundays (last Sunday of the month from May to October), when street parties and festivals are the highlights. Take public transportation to get there as parking is hard to come by. You can experience the neighborhood on a food, walking, or bike tour. – Tripadvisor See more..

I had the pleasure of visiting this neighborhood while visiting some friends. I was amazed at it's beauty. It has a bunch of really beautiful old buildings, cute restaurants, local stores, and a lovely river. I went to the farmer's market on a Saturday and was impressed by it. It's a smaller farmer's market, but it had really good produce and baked goods available. Overall, I found it to be a great area to visit with an interesting arts scene See more..

  9. 4.0 Kerr Village (43 reviews)
    - Kerr Village - Oakville's best neighbourhood
    Sunday: Neighborhoods
I love this area of town - reminds me a bit of an edgier Toronto neighbourhood, with lots of ethnic restaurants and eclectic stores. My personal favourite spots: Stoney's Bread Company and Forster Park. The other reviews mention that it is a "disadvantaged area", but let's get real - this is Oakville, hardly a rough area - our crime rate is ridiculously low. The neighbourhood is a refreshing change from the overly-yuppified Downtown Oakville. See more..
