I was pleasantly surprised by Neb's Fun World. We had been about 5 years ago and I wasn't keen to go back but there isn't a lot to do to entertain kids when visiting Oshawa. Wow, what an improvement! It's been recently renovated and is massive. Our boys, ages 9 and 12, had a blast and we actually went for a second visit later in the week just for the arcade. They loved the treehouse play structure and the arcade. The go carts were fun too. We didn't bowl but there are 40 lanes (both 5 and 10 pin)! There were also rides, like a mini roller coaster. When we got there I have to admit that I was underwhelmed at the activities available. At first glance there didn't seem to be a lot. However, I was looking at it from an adult's point of view - my son loved it. Outside they had some beanbag games, a bubble making station, an area with plasma cars and toddler bikes, a reptile exhibit and a few areas for pictures, including a meet and greet with Sir Topham Hat. Inside there were Imaginarium train tables and Duplo train sets to play with, two bouncy castles (one for younger and one for older kids). They also had a storytelling area and a craft and song area. It was enough that we spent about two hours letting our son go from station to station. The Thomas train itself was awesome. It looked just like Thomas, with moving eyes and mouth. The ride was about 20 minutes with a little storyline played over a speaker about picking up the day's special. At the end, my son got a Jr. Conductor certificate. Sorry, but when I see that first thing, it makes everything else suspect in my opinion. They carry frozen meats (can't remember the farm) and frozen perch from Port Stanley. I was tempted, but again ...everything is suspect when you walk into a produce market and find such poor, rotting produce. The bakery breads etc smelled divine, but as I'm gluten free, I couldn't buy any. They do carry a lot of gluten free products such as interesting pastas etc. I will try again.
