4.5Shakespearean Gardens(184 reviews) - Another world Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Gardens
In the heart of Stratford, is this green space. A beautiful relaxing walk along the river amongst trees and flowers. The only negative, is the amount of garbage along the shore and by the park benches. I really don’t understand why anyone would throw their trash into this area. There were tires in the river and I have no idea how they would even get there. Other than that, it is a beautiful place to spend an hour or so.See more..

I frequent the conservatory on a fairly regular basis and I leave happy, peaceful and relaxed every time. I love going during the different seasons especially winter as Thunder Bay is well known for them (burrrr!). I go with friends or by myself, I've had picnics there and have made some wonderful memories. I'm always excited to go back!See more..
We went there for a visit yesterday, and found the place very nice. The garden is pretty big with some sculptures on the ground. The house of Lawren Harris (of the Group of Seven fame) is nice. I wish they put some descriptions on the sculptures. I think that will make the visit more enjoyable. We also could not get into the Tea Room for lunch because we did not have a reservation.See more..

After breakfast at The White Apron, we made our way to Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens for a short visit. Only 1 car was in the free parking lot at 8:55AM and we parked beside it as it was in the coveted shaded area (right side). This lovely park has mature shady trees, a paved bike path, meandering walkways, park benches, picnic tables, a dome roof metal gazebo and different feature gardens like a waterfall garden and a peony garden (already past blooming season; best seen in June). The Oshawa Creek runs through it so visitors have to walk/cycle over the picturesque Rotary bridge to get to the other side. There is no connecting bridge on the north side of the park so one has to retrace one's steps back to the Rotary bridge to return to the parking lot. No washrooms on site. We only stayed here for 20 mins but in that short time we agreed we found a gem.See more..

4.5Heritage Park(49 reviews) - Great waterfront park on Barrie! Marinas • Parks • Gardens
We went to the Dragon Boat races at Heritage Park in August, and were very impressed with the overall park. There were walkways over quaint little bridges, ponds intermingled amongst the greenery with ducks swimming, and clean change houses and washrooms along the beach. Parking was a bit awkward but we managed to find a spot near one of the fabulous eateries with outside patios! Would definitely go back just to spend a quiet afternoon watching the boats, etc. See more..

4.5Plant Paradise Country Gardens(33 reviews) - A great place to stretch your legs with lots to see Sunday: Spent 1-2 hours Gardens
We stopped here on a whim, and enjoyed a wonderful amble around the gardens. The gardens are fabulously planned, to ensure that no matter what time of their open season you visit, there will always be something in bloom. There was a great variety of plants stretched all along the grounds, so there was always something to see. I believe the grounds stretched for around 26 acres, and were open for you to walk around. However, due to damp ground conditions and a lot of bugs, we stuck to the open areas rather than trudging through the woods. The owners boast that they are completely organic, and prove that the same can be done at home. I was also impressed that the shop area was powered by a solar panel. A very pretty place.See more..

About 20 minutes north of Hwy 401 located on county road 4. Cost is 14.00 for adults and 12.00 for students. Started 20 years ago by Tom Brown and his wife Susan Meisner. Tom was architect in Toronto and they settled in Tamworth and built a great house and nice gardens, they kept expanding and more and more people wanted to visit. They then got so many people they were a charity and then started charging a small fee. They have a team room. Most of the construction was done by Tom and Susan with some help for the bigger projects. They have taken a lot of personal interest and put a lot of passion into this and it shows. Gardens are about 20 acres. For a not corporate entity, this is EXTREMELY professional and well thought out. I am not a huge garden nut but I do admire passion and patience.Setting is stunning and even has a maze which reminds me of a bit of Harry Potter.See more..

5.0Rideau Woodland Ramble(5 reviews) - Great oasis and sculpture gardens Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Gardens
In Merrickville today for a staycation; wonderful experience in town and at this oasis. Aside from the beautiful plants and well-laid paths there were dozens of whimsical sculptures throughout the grounds. From the rusted metal plant shapes that nestled perfectly between their live green brethren to the three cute copper and painted stakes that looked as if they just left the koi pond, every 50 feet there was a new treasure to enjoy. The paths only take a half-hour or so to fully walk, but worth the trip.See more..
We went up to check out this garden because we had learned about their Bloomfest. We were looking for something to do and thought this would be nice to check out as we both love gardening. They have beautiful lilies at the back of the property. What I think is so neat is that you can pick out what variety of lily you would like to purchase and they dig it out for you! It was busy when we went so I highly recommend that if you want to purchase lilies during Bloomfest, go to the back of the property first, place your order for lilies and then check out the rest of the property. 3.5Lucy Maude Montgomery Childrens' Garden of the Senses(3 reviews) - HIDDEN GEM IN NORVAL Spent 2-3 hours Gardens I have lived in Georgetown for many years but never stopped at the park. It is beautifully designed with a huge variety of sights and smells. However, beyond the park is the Willow Park Conservation area and it is truly a hidden gem.
